you can also overjump the lower panel if you take the full way to speed up, so you "just" have to land on the top panel and try to accelerate from there.

Didn't think this'd be possible, but yeah it is! Very useful, thanks for the advice. Track suddenly became a whole lot easier.

btw, every time I play Mind Bender my mind is blown all over again. This game has a lot of great tracks, but that one's on another level.

Next Saturday I will compile the first set of leaderboard shots from the NeoGAF Trials friendslist. So grab a few favorite tracks and get your times on there.

This game is, as expected, incredible. I was so absorbed last night that I didn't notice that, sitting awkwardly, my leg had fallen asleep. When I was done I stood up, took one step, my leg buckled and I fell on the floor. A real life fault. My goal for tonight is to achieve the "getting off the couch and going to bed" platinum medal.
Embarrassing anecdotes aside I'm looking for more friendslist competition. Feel free to add me GT: jimbohh

Edit: Najaf, I look forward to whatever you put together in the editor, really enjoyed your HD creations.

Yeah, so I uploaded the first version of a track I've been working on for uncountable hours over the past week, so if anyone is willing to give me feedback, or just play it and tell me if you liked it or not, I'd appreciate it.

It's a medium difficulty Supercross track called Metallurgy v1 and my gamertag is arvinater.

Hey man I just played this track of yours and it's pretty good! Although I found it just a tad too dark and sometimes hard to see obstacles. I would reccomend placing some more lights on your map or changing the enviroment settings ( set it to custom ) and make it a little lighter.

Aside from that a pretty great and tricky supercross map!

I've been working on 2 new tracks the past two days, I got one called Dreamscape V3 which isn't finished yet but if anyone has played Dreamscape V2 on Trials HD ( I have that track shared so look it up if your on my friends list ) you will know a bit what to expect visuals wise.
Then I have another track in the works which will be a bit of a nature run, a medium track with a lot of speed and jumps.

Those two tracks I haven't shared yet, but will try to finish them soon. DreamscapeV3 will take some more time because I have to manually place everything, there is no nature stuff in that.

Anyway for anyone who hasn't checked it out yet, be sure to check out my track called Bumpy Tunnel, my gamertag is MMaRsu NL. An easy to medium track with some jumps and a trek through a tunnel which features slight hillclimbing.

Extreme tracks are insane but they're great to get better at the game in general. You can't mess around in them like you can on Hard and below.

They definitely need a better way of sorting user tracks. It's way too easy for great tracks to get lost, and crappy tracks to make their way to the top. Some of this will be rectified next week when they start featuring great tracks in the recommended section, but they obviously can't feature them all.

There should also be a 'Search by Track Name' feature, and not make it so that it needs to be perfectly capitalized like the gamertag search to get a result. I'd like to search for a generic term like "Star Trek", for example, to see all of the maps with a Star Trek theme.

I still think we should have a seperate thread for Neogaf creations or just a general Trials Evo editor thread..

Can anyone tell me how to create a working rope bridge with physics? Like that it will bounce a little when you're on it.

Also, is anyone capable of recording maps? I would love to see youtube videos of neogafs created tracks :).

A new thread seems like a good idea. Just as good levels get lost in the game, recommendations will get lost in this thread. Feel free to check out my two levels (gamer tag same as my GAF name). They're simple in both difficulty and theming, they were made relatively quickly while getting to grips with the editor. I'll try to make something more meaty next week.

I made a rope bridge in Trials HD using planks of wood and putting a hinge between each one. I haven't tried it in Evolution yet.

If you've made any levels, PM them to Whitehawk and he will add them to the second post of this thread.

between yesterday and this morning I 0 faulted all the hard tracks, got a bunch more gold in tournaments, but I still can't 0 fault Scenic Route

need to get back to working on Platinums soon (and after that working on topping people who have beaten my time on stages I already have Platinum on)

it's great that there is so much to do I don't really get burned out on any one goal

The only issue I see with the public multiplayer is the lengthy matchmaking. Other than that it's gravy. Local multiplayer gets my seal of approval too, had illegal amounts of fun with it.

Bailout finish should be on by default.

Fiju, my custom track is finaly done; spent about 10 hours on it.

If anyone's willing to check it out, my GT is Duallusion. It has fun ramps and a loop and fish jumping out of the water n' shit;)

been playing obsessively for the last 24 hours. Great game.

Only found one appreciable "mistake" in the game. So I was quick to notice the brilliance of when you restart/retry after crashing the game just gives you a "Ready? GO!" instead of "3..2..1.. GO!" It's a subtle difference that really shows great playtesting and feedback. However, the only times it doesn't do this is in the minigames... It still gives you "Ready? 3 - 2 - 1 GO," which is a slight, slight mistep. I hope when they issue a random patch that's something that gets tweaked ever so slightly.

I know that it's a silly complaint, but I thought I'd still mention it. Completely awesome, perfect game though.

I like this game, but it is just too difficult for me. The medium tracks are giving me a hard time. I suck.

I dunno if you're having trouble golding the levels or just beating them, but it'll come. This is my first Trials that I bought, I played the first but didn't buy it.

Repetition is key in this game for mastering sections of levels. It's not even about beating the whole level, but mastering sections... Figuring out exactly how to take the map. After a few tries I finally golded the 'Terminal Velocity' level where the whole level is hanging in mid-air... But every section of that level took figuring out how to approach it until I was ready to put it all together in one run. Then, a few mistake runs, I finally did it well.

I wish that I was friends with more Gaf to compare scores. I cleaned out my friends list recently. This is one game where I wish you could just sort of add a friends list per game.

Honestly, not a bad track. Fun and engaging. Probably should be labeled Medium, though, as a couple of the sections do require a bit of technical skill. Easy should be reserved for tracks that are simple jumps and require no throttle control, IMO.

There is one thing I didn't like, but it's completely personal preference. I dislike the sharp, jarring angle changes. I think it works better when it's a more arcing, smooth line. It doesn't really take away from your track, and the first sharp curve even works a little bit because it seems as if you have something blow up and your rider is taking a sharp turn to avoid it. Nicely done.

What's the easiest Extreme track?

I tried the first one, got to the end with no problems, then there's a fucking wall made of logs about 3 bikes high. Fuuuuck that.

Whoever gave the advice to never backup from a checkpoint just cost me 10 minutes of my life. At the end of The Wreck, you should be backing up before the checkpoint to get up enough speed to get over the boxes.

So yeah, don't listen to anyone that says never backup at a checkpoint, they are damn dirty liars.

You don't need to back up to hit anything on The Wreck. But if you think it made it easier for you, then congrats.

Not saying you need to, but it makes the box at the end WAY easier to get over. It gives you more bounce when you hit, and you hit higher, just below the box, so your bunny hop doesn't have to be nearly as high.

Edit: And just finished all the extreme tracks. The tires at the end of Inferno are annoying as hell.

Thanks, I tried to get a certain mood flowing from the start of the level to the end, but I was wondering if people would have issues. Fairly sure it's an issue with the light count too, causing some lights not to function it's difficult to balance considering how tightly packed the start of the level is, especially when you don't just want to douse the level in point lights or artificial illumination. I appreciate your enthusiasm. Gonna work on a v2 before I submit to OP. If anyone else is willing to download it and give me some feedback, I'd appreciate it. It's Metallurgy v1 for gamertag arvinater.

Also, I tried your track. Enjoyed it a lot, good mix of different gameplay elements throughout the level. Uphill is my achilles heel :( Only one minor criticism, on the ramp ascent right before the descent towards the ring of fire, it seems like you have a lot of custom cameras working there. Makes the camera stutter a bit as your going up which would otherwise be smooth if just left to the default camera.

I just ran through it again and I see what you are saying. Perhaps that is why they started us on an incline. My first run through I just got onto the train car and did a bunny hop up, but I tried rolling back and the speed does give a nice hop. Nice find.

For some reason I couldn't find it, but I did find Tricky Lake so I played that. And I saw a jumping fish so probably the same LOL

Love the use of camerawork throughout the level. And the lone log was a cool obstruction.
I brute forced that shit out of the way.

On the wooden ramp itself before the ring of fire I only have one custom camera I think, but I'll check it out.

I don't even see it as an argument. The first extreme track is simply way easier than any of the others. There is no single feature in it that is particularly difficult. Hell I even have a gold in it, that is how easy it is.
