Yes. The last time the United States budget has run a surplus was under Bill Clinton.

Obama's first year had a deficit of over 1 trillion due to stimulus spending, bailouts (some enacted under W) and steadily dropped over his presidency. I'm sure fiscal conservative Trump can get it even lower!

I mean, the easiest way for people to relate to the government is through their taxes. You tell them their taxes are gonna go down, they get what the effect will be on their bottomline. Yup. He kind of highlights how stupid a portion of the American electrate can be. He was a Democratic president with a 63%-33% approval-disaoproval rating at election time in 2000, yet the election is close enough to steal. Same thing with Obama. Very high approval rating, but millions decide to make it close enough to steal again. At least from the popular vote we know a tiny majority of voters have some sense. Republicans have won the popular vote only once in the past 7 elections.
