This is my worst fear about Donald.

He has nothing left to live for. He could screw up in a big way and not deal with the consequences.

"Survive a nuclear war? Pfft, I'm going to die anyway. Fire missiles".
This isn't Donald's plan even. Its the GOPs. It has been for a decade now. Basically, "We can't dare leave our children saddled with this debt that we're not actually working to pay off, but do they really need parks or nature or clean water or the sun?"

His plan to distract from evil stupidity with stupid evil at least looks symmetrical from space.

It's so stupid because we were moving steadily towards full energy independence. Solar/wind/what have you is the very definition of a neutral source.

This is why I don't get this whole Russia investigation and him being allowed to continue making these types of decisions. Why the fuck would we not put his "presidency" on ice until the investigation is sorted out, if it turns out that he's impeached, what happens to all his orders while he was president, are they rolled back?

Innocent until proven guilty basically. Could take months or a year or so to get him out. Hopefully it's sooner.

It is kind of a shame burning coal is so dirty. US has more coal reserves than anyone.

I don't see much research going into it after renewables are cheaper either.

Coal. You had a good run. Maybe irreversibly changed the climate but hey!

I'm starting to believe the theory that humans are bacteria and a galaxy is a part of a nucleus of a cell. We were created to destroy living things including ourselves. Then we emerges again and repeat the same process. Trump and the GOP is another example of this.

Are people going to post "but her emails" sarcastically for 4 years? There aren't many people on neogaf that would even be directed towards.

Not just the next four years, but until the end of America

And there are plenty of Trump voters and third party "voters" here, they're just quieter lately for some reason

at this point, he's like a real life Captain Planet villain. He's just hellbent on making as much money as possible and gleefully polluting as he does it. I never imagined Hoggish Greedly would be in the White House one day.

Who ever is the next president is, it should be literally their first to revert this changes. Like Obama said, the momentum of cleaner sources cant really be changed, even with idiotic policies like this.

I knew it was coming, but I'm still shocked by how every decision Trump makes is the most evil option available.

It's so sad that the only reason he's doing this is because of his irrational need to spite everyone who ever did anything before him. That and I'm sure he's also "showing Obama his place".

People talk about wanting to do what's best for their children and being patriotic.. but what has the most impact to both their children and nation, they oddly fall quiet.

Also fuck Trump.

I've always maintained that if there was any one single reason to vote for Hillary against Trump it was climate change. Climate change poses an existential risk to human civilization. We can't afford 4 years of complete inaction on this issues, let alone 4-8 years of going full throttle in the wrong direction. Sadly, climate change isn't a "sexy" topic despite the grave consequences it will have. So most news media don't even bother talking about it anymore. And they won't bother criticizing Trump for this because they don't care. Heck, many of them personally stand to directly profit off this and the people responsible are the ones most sheltered from it's effects.

Environmental groups are prepared to take legal action over this, fortunately. But Jesus Christ, fuck everyone who voted for this.

Can they sue to stop this? I don't really see how, the EPA and the DoJ are ready to fight in court to keep fucking the environment.

This is true, but let's not act like US inaction halts the rest of the world or like there aren't scientists researching how to reverse global warming in various ways, rather than simply ceasing carbon emissions.

I guess those that voted for Trump will love to drink and bath in toxic waste. They are probably happy that most of the wildlife and nature will be damaged beyond repair

I have no idea how this man still maintains enough legitimacy for anything he does to pass aside from the Repubs saying "Fuck you, we won, get over it."

Fuck you americans for letting this asshole get away with this.

Go out and fight him and let him know that We the people decides What he can and can not do.

If Your not out and fighting this mad man then Your part of the problem.

Sorry I think we blame this too much on Trump and too little on Republicans and Conservatives world wide. Yes it is nice to have a scapegoat, but let's not forget that he's just keeping with party line. Trump did not cause the Flint Water Crisis, that was Republicans for you.

Solar panels on the Whitehouse by Jimmy Carter? Republicans took it off. Racism? Republicans have been pushing it for ages!

Do not let them get away with it by blaming it all on an Orange OomaLoompa that just wants to feel big and likes attention. Hold the climate criminals responsible! They are already responsible for millions of deaths, and if you think this refugee crisis is bad? Wait till the Oceans release their Methane deposits and the great Ocean wild life starts dying off at an alarming rate. Then you'll really start seeing one.

But then too, Republicans will go "Bleeding heart liberals..... socialists...booh. We can't take them all in, they are probably terrorists anyway. They run away from their problems! Not fight them like us AmeriCANs!" after scapegoating all of the problems away via Trump.

Political memory of humans is shorter than that of a Hamster on speed.

they aren't even subtle.

I'm convinced they are trying to fuck america up AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE as quickly as possible, before they're removed from power. It seems completely obvious, because these are all the same moves that someone with those motives would make.
