I guarantee that, if you asked the Trump supporters on neoGAF how much crime they think is committed by undocumented migrants in sanctuary cities (that they probably don't even live in at all), compared to how much ACTUALLY occurs, they'd be so off the mark it would not even be funny. But they would just pretend the numbers are lying. This is the danger of ignorance. Of course they support removing sanctuary cities...they don't even know the reality IN sanctuary cities!
The screened passage refers to "aliens", not "undocumented persons". That's a very large proportion of the population if interpreted openly. Who is the author talking about? Also, doesn't this practically weaken the presumption of innocence that defendants are supposed to enjoy?

We'll never see accurate statistics on a topic like this from this administration. You're totally right, it'll be easy for other people to calculate them, but they will then be dismissed as fake facts because "reasons", like Trump heard from a good friend that unrecorded crime dwarfs the recorded crime, or some other nonsense. They will believe what they want to believe, and this is nothing less than propaganda aimed at their base. Terrible days.

How about a list of crimes committed by legal residents and citizens? I have this conversation with my coworkers all the time, yeah having a secure boarder is important, but this is so blatantly racist. Trump can go fuck himself. I found out one of my friends, a latino, female, teachers assistant living in Los Angeles, California is a Trump supporter. I had to hold back a whole "are YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?!" so bad. I realized questioning people's intelligence based upon political views was very unproductive, so I told her why I disagreed with Trump based upon things he's said and done...and over and over she kept saying "oh I didn't know he did that". ignorant. just plain ignorance. I get mortified people like her exist and hold the same political influence as me.
I had another Hispanic female friend laugh at the women's March on Saturday saying "What rights are they taking away that they have to complain about, lol!" I'm in awe that people like this exist.
edit: I'm also sure this is all part of Trump's war against California...probably his strongest opponent for the next 4 years. just look at the opposition Governer Brown is already giving him.
Under normal circumstances that would be the case. Let's stop looking at this as if normal circumstances apply.

Dont be surprised if Foxnews gets on it. They wont go so far as a list, but they'll make a point of doing stories about the crimes on the list. Interviewing victims and such. And they'll deflect by asking their critics why they want to "silence grieving families."
