Maybe and thats because newer Hispanic generations forget or ignore their roots and become one of the "good ones", specially light skinned hispanics.

I respect people can have different political positions but when one group is terrorizing people like you, other minorities. Like they cant take a second to reflect and say "wow if i wasnt born here, id be a target" or "they could be targeting my family".

Seeing as how a large portion of the southwest was originally Mexican in origin and all the way up until less than 100 years ago, I don't see how it's possible to get rid of that influence nor the people who have real roots in that portion of the country.

Less than 100 years? The gadsen purchase was the most recent west/southwest acquisition, and that was in 1853. The Mexican cession and Texas annexation were 5 and 7 years earlier.

I found out one of my friends, a latino, female, teachers assistant living in Los Angeles, California is a Trump supporter. I had to hold back a whole "are YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?!" so bad. I realized questioning people's intelligence based upon political views was very unproductive, so I told her why I disagreed with Trump based upon things he's said and done...and over and over she kept saying "oh I didn't know he did that". ignorant. just plain ignorance. I get mortified people like her exist and hold the same political influence as me.

I had another Hispanic female friend laugh at the women's March on Saturday saying "What rights are they taking away that they have to complain about, lol!" I'm in awe that people like this exist.

edit: I'm also sure this is all part of Trump's war against California...probably his strongest opponent for the next 4 years. just look at the opposition Governer Brown is already giving him.

You have to educate the Hispanic voters that voted for Trump.

I'm Hispanic on both sides and I have a significant chunk of my family that voted for Trump not because of the bigotry part but because they haven't heard of all the negative stuff about him.

They don't watch enough of the news. They tune in every once in a while and it's usually Fox because it's biggest and most well known network.

You can get more Hispanics to vote Democrat just by telling them what's wrong with Republicans/ Trump.

Trump is clearly smart enough to not do these things piece meal

He is doing everything atrocious at once, and it is leaving the rest of us unable to focus our rage in any particular direction. He is attacking the media, immigrants, putting through tons of executive orders at once. And may be all don't make it through the senate, but you do enough at once and maybe some do make it through.

All the while he is playing the whole "inauguration numbers" debate up to 11, and has the media distracted by arbitrary shit like he is lying about his crowd sizes.

I think he is playing this politician game very well, and is pulling some text book moves for causing confusion amongst his enemy by blitzkrieging through new policy and shooting off little red herrings at the same time.
