when Luthor was President he was able to negotiate an alliance with Darkseid, DARKSEID. won a war, rebuilt the country and the economy was great!
Luthor is a self made man who believes in reason and science, understands the value of a happy electorate and won't embarrass us on the world stage. and he won't have conflict of interest when it comes to his company and all it's subsidiaries world wide. he handed control of the company over to Talia Head.

Luthor is only a futurist until he actually meets a certain people of tomorrow. Then he just wants to kill them. He built many proverbial walls like turning the sun red, filling the atmosphere with Kryptonite, etc. He uses science to attack and divide people. Some guy right.
