You are right. When he first kneeled down, it was a small act. Look at how big it turned out. If he had never knelt, we would have never been having this conversation about the President of the United States. This small act could change the direction of America.
This is why people crying about blocking traffic or a few idiots taking advantage of a peaceful protest to hide their looting fall on deaf ears to me. It was never how you protest, but the very act of protesting the status quo in ANY visible way that triggers these people. They just want to be able to conveniently ignore it in any way possible.

In Australia our anthem only plays on days of significance (anzac day, Australia). Otherwise its a "finals" only occasion.

That makes no sense even from Trump's POV. Trump wants the players to be good little boys, stand for the anthem, and not complain when a cop decides to use one for target practice.

Im assuming most networks zoom in on the flag during the anthem, Trump finds a stadium where week-over-week attendance is down and claims victory, and its never brought up again. I hope Im wrong, but this is usually how his temper tantrums go.
