Apart from the evil in this document

Immediate suspension of the visa waiver program means an incredible imposition of hassle on all tourism and business trips, and if this sinks in all the countries on the list will cancel their visa waivers for US citizens meaning Americans going abroad are going to face having to make appointment at embassies to get a stamp valid for 30 days.

It is ludicrous.
Are there any stats on Crimes committed by tourists who used ESTA to get fast approval for the right to visit the USA on a trip?

Oh, retaliation will be swift.

Hell, Canada and Brazil got into a tit-for-tat visa war a decade ago (over the aerospace industry) and the visa requirements still stand.

It's the interview waiver program that's being suspended (for visa renewals), not ESTA.

The EO is still pretty evil.

No I got it wrong.
the increase in hassle is for multiple entry visas which is a small class.

visa waiver / ESTA is a different program.

No mistaking the direction he is heading though!

Republicans, or at least the ones who support this shit, are fucking cowards. They're literally scared of women and children seeking a better life. They're shitting themselves at the thought of *gasp* families with different religious beliefs living amongst us.

Fucking. Cowards.

A lot of people are more afraid of Muslims than fascism.

This may be how we all get fucked and why Osama Bin Laden will unfortunately go down as one of the most influential people of all time.

Funny they don't care about the thousands of Americans getting killed by other Americans daily with guns.

I'm 37 years old, this is the first president in my lifetime that actually said "I'm going to do this, this, this and this" on the campsign trail and actually do it.

Usually candidates promise you the world, they get you to vote for them and then BAM....nothing they said they were going to do really happens.

This guy though was like "I'm going to bring hell on earth"

And.....that's exactly what he is doing.

Crazy

I would be interested to see exactly what he means by "extreme vetting" but knowing where immigrants come from and what their affiliations are is not a bad thing. The language is so vague that its hard to get worked up about until the details come out.

Waiting in customs and having to apply for a Visa is "humilitating"? I have been "detained" going through other countries customs on a few occasions too, I never found it to be "humilitating".

What's your ethnicity?

Most politicians do indeed keep their promises.

Obama also kept most of his.

does the draft provided above mean that somebody who has a green card and is from one of those countries cannot get back into the US if they leave? is that what nonimmigrant means?

This is insanity. How can anyone moderately intelligent not see that this isolationist garbage is only going to damage the country?

Because Trump is not moderately intelligent and the people he surrounds himself aren't concerned with damage to the country.

All these executive orders can be removed easily by the next sane president, right?

Yea, that's the one upside to all the recent craziness. As soon as any democrat enters the white house again, anything not done through congress can be gotten rid of just as quickly.

Good luck with new national voter ID laws Democrats might never win again.

One time, in 2012, me and my mom where coming to the US, from Saudi Arabia (Our nationality) after the summer break because I was student at the time, going to high school. At immigration we got this "extra vetting," which we got taken into a back room and screamed at (Asking questions about why we where renting an apartment), to the point my mom burst into tears and started hyperventilating. The women officer said the other officer went too far. We had all of our document in order, at the end they let us in, but after berating us, making us feel like we are bad people or even criminals for trying to study in and visit the US. How does this benefit anyone, we are law abiding people but were treated as if we where guilty based our nationality and our religion. I love America and cherish the friends I made while I was studying and really enjoyed my experience, but I fear going back to US because of this "extreme vetting."

It's disgusting, and people will eat it up. Fuck this. This administration is straight up monstrous.

Because Trump is not moderately intelligent and the people he surrounds himself aren't concerned with damage to the country.

Seriously, people need to realize this. Just listen to the way he speaks, the kind of answers he gives, Trump is not an intelligent man, no matter his ''accomplishments''. The people who he has surrounded himself with don't care. His base consists of a mix of both.
