Twisted Metal Season 2 | Official Trailer | July 31

I never saw season 1, will I understand the plot?

Edit: I assumed this was for a live service game and was making a joke… I'm not sure what's a dumber idea, a live service game, or an actual TV show about twisted metal.

If it helps set expectations, imagine more Twisted Metal 3 and 4 (also Head-on and Small Brawl) in terms of the show's zanyness, rather than the brooding/dark Twisted Metal Black (and to a lesser extent, 1).

Just realized they brought our man Sweet Tooth back! Just like I had advocated before and they took my idea of a season 2.

One of the dozen-ish games they cancelled in the last year or so. Quite why they cancelled twisted metal and kept concord and fairgames I have no idea.
out of all the games they canned, they picked a one that has an original idea for Battle royal cars that would have been a huge seller if it was done right.

and a twisted metal too. where they have a TV show AND its one of the pillars that made the PlayStation what it is.

Amazing stuff from Sony management.

I'm going to need a behind the scenes on how they created this.

The best game to TV show along with Fallout.

Looking forward to season 2 a lot and this is coming from someone that never played any Twisted Metal game just watched all the cutscenes from all the Twisted Metal games.

Where is my fucking game Sony ?

Give me Battle Royal Twisted Metal NOW

Also, the first season was awesome. can't wait.
I'm guessing they wasn't putting enough love into it then the show blew up bigger than they thought & whatever they had coming wasn't good enough & probably would have brought down the value lol

I remember watching Season 1 on some streaming service. Amazon, or Crave? I forgot. Season 1 was decent. The story threads between the main characters were a 'whatever' to me. I wish there were more car combat scenes. But the show probably didn't have enough of a budget to do more. It seems like a good representation of the game franchise overall.

I'm pretty sure that David Jaffee gave season 1 a thumbs up overall. He was overall pleased with how the adaption turned out. I know he talked about it a few times on his youtube channel.

Sweet Tooth was in season 1

So odd to have a show, that is solid, based off a videogame that hasn't had a new entry in over a decade. Bring it on!!! Hoping for a Jumping Flash series if all goes well.

Yah, I know people who would have played it and I'd have prob given it a go, despite not really playing much online. The one I'd have def played was last of us 🤷‍♂️. Oh well.

Just so much wasted time and talent.

Like most game to movie or TV show things, the original IP is just a loose scaffold for the story. I watched this on a whim and it was pretty fun. But I have a similar question, If I forgot almost all details of S1, will S2 still be fun?

From memory everything was tied up, leading straight into season 2, the TM tourny.

Sweet Tooth was in season 1

Yeah, I am a little confused by that post. Sweet Tooth was like a main supporting character in season 1. Yeah of course he is going to be in season two. Sweet Tooth is basically the mascot for the entire series.

The actor they picked for Calypso is amazingly on point, great casting!
This is four months old, but it is still worth posting. It is David Jaffe's thoughts on the new trailer. David Jaffe one of the creators of Twisted Metal, obviously. It is cool to see people who created the franchise onboard with the TV series.
