It's exactly because of the movie therefore the alien rangers, not to mention...
1) It's cheaper to pay for kid actors.
2) They can use Kakuranger sentai footage besides the zords.
3) Therefore with 1 and 2 they can save some money.

Season 1 cast deserved episodes like these. Instead they only got half episodes with all of the monster stuff having almost nothing to do with the school scenes.
