The ninja suits are just another type of power up. They're basically an upgrade over the nothing they used to fight goons in (which, personally, I thought it was way more interesting when the actors were clearly doing their own fight scenes) but the Ranger suits are still the ultimate power.
Maybe its the switch between two outfits then that is confusing me. They have ninja suits and the standard ranger suits and switch for what reason?

Didn't want to get rid of what's iconic and they can use stunt doubles for more American footage.
Zyuranger (MMPR counterpart) just had the Dino, Dragon, and Titanus zords and any combination of the three.
Dairanger (MMPR S2) had the Thunder, Tiger, and Tor zords.

Just dug up a bunch of the toys from the first couple of seasons that were sitting in my loft. The Megazord with all the individual Zords that detach from it is still preeeetty cool.

Exactly my issue. The griffon and unicorn were fucking terrible. No doubt that the red dragon is one of the best zords ever though.
I thought it was funny the griffin was the same as the unicorn, but the griffin had the actual horn on its head.

Are these from Zeo? I missed the majority of that season as kid, but I saw enough to ask for Gold Ranger's rolly-ball Megazord for Xmas lol

Also, as far as I understand it, the rangers still have the suits from the Dinosaur Sentai show but each time a new zord is introduced it's basically from a whole new Sentai show?
