It wasn't even a terrible movie. It was just a, "Why does this even exist?" movie. It served no purpose other than to waste my time...and apparently the time of everyone who worked on the film.

This. I watched the movie and it is literally the same as any other superhero movie these days. It's not good, but also not as terrible as people make it out to be.
I think it's just trendy to crap on the movie, because it wasn't produced by Marvel.

There are really good comic book movies. Morbius was not one of them. That said, it wasn't the worst either. It's probably Ghost Rider tier, minus the glory of Nic Cage, of course. I mean, when you have Catwoman, Howard the Duck, Fantastic 4 Reboot, and others on the list, there are a lot of bad flicks to pick from. Hell, Bloodshot was another awful comic book movie from Sony, and it wasn't that long ago. So Morbius at least has that going for it.

I do think much of the negativity is centered around Leto though. People just don't like him. I'm not a major fan. He's like a broke man's Joaquin Phoenix, but I respect the effort he puts into his roles. I just don't think this IP ever really stood a chance. It's just another vampire story. It's not even interesting like with Blade being a mythical figure to the vampires. This is just Dr Strange but as a vampire instead, with a final battle against a clone of himself. I have no idea why Marvel origin stories have to involve a clone fight, but it seems to be how they roll.

The world didn't need this movie. Even before the pandemic, this was a bad idea.

They're trying to make it look worse than it is because last year Marvel actually DID produce two of the worst comic book films of all time.

Eternals and Black Widow are the new barometers for bad comic book movies, and Morbius is probably better than both combined... even though it's a 5/10 at best lol

I haven't watched it and probably never will, but Its existence has provided me with more quality entertainment than most superhero movies of the last 5 years.

Pretty much. A lot of current Marvel movies aren't any better than Morbius.

On that note though, I'm 99% sure Black Widow would have been a much better movie if they produced it early on in the MCU.
The longer they waited, the worse it was always going to get.
