Ugh why the hell are they moving the bar to the left side?

I hope they don't add much shit. Twitter should remain a simple thing.
 
I hope they don't mess with the iPad app, it was so perfect imo. Not a fan of the new look in general though...

Yeah I don't like how in the Android app they've moved lists to your profile, rather than having them directly accessible from the main page. They've replaced it with that bullshit "discover" section.
 
Really liking the new iPhone app, very sleek.

The new website design though, so much wasted space. Everything is cramped. You have to scroll more to get the same information that popped up on the side before.
 
I still prefer TweetBot on iPhone. I want to play around with the new browser version but doesn't seem like they're updating that yet, unless it takes a while.
 
I never go to the website so i checked out the iphone app.

eh, not really impressed. I'll be sticking with twitterriffic or tweetbot.

You have to download the app first to get access to the new website design.

Yeah Tweetbot is the best imo.
 
New iPhone app is zippier. I think most of the changes are neutral or better, but the removal of the quick-swipe menu is really dumb. Why would you get rid of that? It was insanely useful.

I like that getting to conversation view is faster now. You used to have to open a tweet and then select "in reply to". Now the whole convo just shows up when you select the tweet.

I don't use lists, so the fact that they are still pretty hidden doesn't bother me.

Also, ProTips: Swipe Up from the "Me" button and it will immediately bring up your DMs. Swipe Left from the "Me" button and it will immediately bring up your list of accounts (if you have more than 1).

Also, on any tab you can press that tab's button again and it will zip to the top of the tab (a little easier of a target than tapping the status bar on iPhone).
 
The discover tab's top 3 stories for me are about the Anaheim Angels, Miyamoto, and John Lennon. I'm interested in 2 of those things (Baseball is boring) so I guess that's pretty good. FWIW, there was a LOT of buzz on my Twitter feed from my Baseball-loving friends about the Angels, so I guess that's how it popped up.

The discover tab is just the new name for Trends. It just shows you the top 3 trends in more detail

Is it the top 3 trends in general? I seems to be curating the "top stories" based on your actual Twitter feed, and then below that it shows the general trends (retarded stuff like #YouKnowSheAHoWhen -- which I made up but is probably real). Or maybe it's just coincidence that my feed personal feed is also talking about the Angels, Miyamoto, and Lennon.
 
I'll have to get used to the change, but I don't think I like it. The large amount of wasted space at the top with the big blue bar on the Android version feels like just that.. a waste. Something just seems off with this update. Might be going back to Tweetdeck.
 
I feel like the New Twitter is only less than a year old? These social media sites need to cool it with the redesigns, really, it's fine, your website works fine.


This one just feels dumb because they moved the shit on the right over to the left side, hid somethings behind obscure sections and just about called it a day. Good thing I don't really ever mess with the main site (Silver bird, amen).
 
Just got hit with it. No complains from me but web Twitter isn't my primary method for Twitter.
 
The website looks a lot better than the old one. Clicking a tweet and having it open another column where you had to further move your mouse and eyes was annoying. Especially if my browser window was sized down.

I'm a regular Tweetbot guy as well, but I'll give the iPhone app a shot. Looks very clean so far though.

This is hilarious, the one thing keeping me from moving to Echofon was no in-app translation, and now they removed that from the official Twitter app. And I can't even copy & paste text from a tweet now? Wow.
 
So are saved searches completely removed on the iPhone app now?
I'm not seeing them. That is lame. Otherwise, a nice clean up.
 
Haven't used it much on the iPhone but it feels faster (may be a placebo). I don't mind the new design but the discover tab is useless to me and I wish it didn't update by itself because I'm OCD about the "new updates" blue light.

The thing I'll really miss is that the previous version went to the "switch accounts" page when I first opened the app, allowing me to choose which to check first. Now if I reboot the app it goes directly inside one of my accounts (the one I saw last, I think), and I have to click "Me" then "Switch Accounts". Minor but annoying enough when you are used to it.

The previous version was good enough for me but to be honest I'm considering switching clients now. We'll see.

I don't think Tweetbot does copy & paste of selected text though (you can copy a Tweet though). That's probably my only real complaint and I saw you mention that in your previous post. Everything else though I love and I've been using it for over a year now. Love the double/triple tap functions.

Actually, I should send that in as a suggestion. They usually update the app for fixes and stuff
