As an example of this - although Sweden has been financially more successful for all of the 20th century - reports of hardships of Finnish companies and taking stabs at Nokia are still popular article genres in tabloids such as Expressen and Aftonbladet.

Finnish people do not have a similar dislike of Swedish people, but Russians instead. I believe this comes from the history of Russia / USSR attempting to invade Finland several times, without success.

I always get annoyed when people put all the blame on a kid fucking up on the parents, when at the same time they're being told that they can't beat their kids, shout at their kids, or as seen in a recent thread on this board, can't even take away their fucking Christmas gift. I think I was in "A" homeroom, but I could be entirely confused. I was class of 2002, so we never went to school together. There were alot of drugs at Stuy, kids even had the balls to smoke pot in class. Smart kids can get away with almost anything, thankfully not murder though.

I heard about that, yeah. It was such a quiet school when I went there. Both Halsey and Forest Hills HS became such lousy schools...well FHHS was always a shitty school, but it got even worse. I live in the residential area of Rego Park/Forest Hills by Woodhaven and I usually hang out in Bayside or Long Island, anyways. But still, this neighborhood went to shit pretty quickly.

Two guys shot themselves to death on 63rd Drive 2 weeks ago. Two girls got raped by the same guy in the past month on Saunders St. (In my old building no less), and now this whole Midway fiasco -- all in the same month.

some of my friends live in jersey city, theres a big contingency of bengali christians there, and i used to party with them a lot...open bar and all that...
so one day i noticed a hot chick dancing, and i found out that she was my friend's cousin. i thought she was really cute so i kept her in mind.
a few months later, while talking to my friend i asked how his cousin was doing, and he said that her boyfriend killed her.
why, you ask?
because her parents arranged her marriage to some other dude. so she broke the news to her boyfriend, who went nuts, strangled her, put her in the trunk of his car...then drove to the police station and turned himself in.
i was speechless, in my mind she was still that really hot chick dancing in slow mo...

A roommate (and consequentally, a good friend of mine) from a couple years ago used to always tell me how he wanted to kill someone. Now jokingly, but seriously. We actually had long discussions about murder and how to get away with it. At first, he would wierd me out when he said stuff like that, but eventually, I figured he might just be one of those people with the bloodlust, but without the motivation to carry it out. He always talked about just going out one night and jacking up some jogger or something. Really wierd shit. And he wasn't overly concerned with evidence either. I always asked him, "don't you worry about someone seeing you?" "You know there are like a million different things you gotta watch out for so forensics won't find your trail right?" He never seemed concerned with that. And I never tried "talking him out of it" b/c I really didn't think he would do it. But who knows? He never scared me so much as I was scared that there are probably a lot of people out there like him wanting to thrill kill. He read a lot of John Sanders books from the Prey series too, which is all about serial killers and oddball murder cases like that. I read them too, but then, I never seriously thought about killing someone. Maybe I could swing being a hitman, but I see no pleasure in murder.

And to juxtopose(?) that story, this kid I went to school with and new well. we used to give him a ride to school in the mornings until he got a truck. Then he used to give me and my sister a ride home from school each day:

He got the death penalty for killing two people at a waffle house, one a 17yo mom. No point in concealing his identity, this was a pretty big case when it happened, and the guy was a Grade A fucktard. Used to make pipebombs from CO2 canisters. I almost had him kill an annoying cat around my neighborhood one day, but my sister begged him not to. I'm kinda glad, he didn't need anymore encouragement in killing. And he was about to beat my ass one day, eventhough I thought he was too much of a pussy to do it. He used to get teased all the time b/c he weighed like 350lbs. Guess I was wrong, he would have killed me that day. PEACE.
