Never tried it, but I'd tip.
It's clearly not built into the delivery fees or any fees.. There's a whole separate UI section in the app covering tips. Basically are you a cheapskate? If so, then don't use these servicesBecause it may be built into the service fees and delivery fees already. That's what uber itself has stated before.
And let's not get started on services that don't get tips vs those that do and the invisible line between them. I don't think it's out of the question to wonder if you're supposed to tip on these things.
You quoted the OP where I said I tip every time, but Uber themselves say the driver's pay comes from the service fees and delivery fees. So let them know that you know more about their service than they doIt's clearly not built into the delivery fees or any fees.. There's a whole separate UI section in the app covering tips. If you don't tip the driver is making sub min wage off your order. You quoted the OP where I said I tip every time, but Uber themselves say the driver's pay comes from the service fees and delivery fees. So let them know that you know more about their service than they do
I've always left tips when using this service, but then I randomly looked it up, and Uber itself basically says tips aren't really expected and they compensate the drivers based on service fees and other factors.
One order I did recently had like $11 in service fees, delivery fees, taxes, ect. It's a pretty insane portion of the bill that is already higher than usual since they price the food items higher than if you went there yourself on top of taking in the service fee.
So even if I left a "shitty" $3 tip, I'm at $14 to get some food delivered. And this appears to be the cheapest food delivery service. Postmates is fucking outrageous and I won't use them. It really helps motivate a guy to drive after his own food
So I was considering using Uber Eats today and there's a Service Fee for $3.00 and a delivery fee of $1.99.
Seriously wtf?
I'm all for tipping y'all but I can see wy people don't. This is straight up price gouging.
Never tried it, but I'd tip.
There's also an extra charge built into every menu item on the food you're ordering.
You could learn how to cook.
Not here. I usually cross check prices vs the restaurant’s menu and they’re generally the same.
Yeah I found that out awhile back. It's kind of a rip off tbh. There's also an extra charge built into every menu item on the food you're ordering.
My pizza was cold on arrival. I still left a tip but ffs Uber, having people deliver hot food on a bicycle from over 2 miles away? Guess they don't give a shit anymore. When I travel for work, yes. And I almost always leave at least some tip.
I don't blame her.My wife has a phobia about food delivery. She won’t even do pizza delivery. She will go pick it up everytime. At first it was “I don’t like the interaction with the driver, paying and tipping etc” of course I volunteered to Handel that part, but she still wants to pick it up anyway.
its wired but not a battle worth fighting as frankly saves money in the fee/tip

It's probably like that here in the US too. There is a Service Fee and Delivery Fee and my guess is the SERVICE FEE goes to the driver or a portion of it.Many years ago there was a British comedian called Tommy Cooper (very funny one-liners like ‘I went on the whiskey diet and lost three weeks’). When he got a cab he’d put something in the pocket of the driver and say ‘have a drink on me’.
It was a teabag.
Anyway, tips are built in to Uber delivery payments in the UK. I’d have to actively remove them. Not that I would.

I rated mine today. Pizza was cold and dude was on a bike.I’d assume so too.
The only thing I feel mildly bad about is ignoring requests to rate my experience. I really can’t be bothered (hence ordering food in the first place). 9/10 - ‘they did what I’d paid cash for them to do. It was amazing!!!’
Prices in the UK are crazy anyway. A McDonald’s breakfast costs twice as much to be delivered by Uber, but that’s probably more my problem than theirs. To be fair, it’s a 20 minute round trip for me, and clearly my time is valuable.

Dude travelled 2+ miles on a bike with hot food in cool weather.
I wouldn't have even ordered if it weren't for the promo I had.
