*yawn*

Usual lame ass western trash. Ubi is more like EA now.

They had one thing that really got me into Ubi. Beyond Good and Evil. No sequel or any kind of attempt at a similar type of game. Lame.

Considering I couldnt GET to the final boss thanks to Ubi's decision to ship the game with a progression break RIGHT BEFORE the final boss fight. I'm glad there isnt a PoP3 on Cube. Trust my version of the story guys, he dies and the never made a sequel again.

Prince of Persia® 3 (working title) [PlayStation 2, Xbox]: Blending the winning elements from the first two masterpieces to bring a unique and unexpected twist to the award-winning franchise.

OMG!

The prince is really a princess.

An ANGRY princess!

That's the only problem with Ubi, their testing team sucks (or are completely ignored).

Pretty much. Won't be long before UBI runs all these franchises completely into the ground.

And I thought some UBI employees on this board told me PoP3 wouldn't be out this year!!!

More like the guys in suits don't care about shipping a polished game. All these problems are going to come back and bite them in the ass.

No Splinter Cell 4?

My thoughts exactly :(

Maybe they just don't have enough time after finishing Chaos Theory.

I wasn't happy with the direction they took PoP2. I wonder if it's going to be in the same vein.

*you bitch!*

I think this sentence from the pr explains the "missing" platforms:

They won't.

In regards to PoP3 - we've learned a lot. We're following by example - SC:CT. They combined their learnings from SC1 & SC2 to make SC3 the best game ever - well, at least it will undoubtedly go down as the highest scoring game ever on Xbox when all is said and done.

You don't think I've listned to the 50 million e-mails telling me how bad we suck cuz of certain aspects that were hated? Why do you think I bare the brunt of most attacks? The reason is because there's always a kernal of great information in between the YOU SUCK and the other slander. Actually, that's an extreme example - most people are curtious- and I appreciate that.

You ALL will be surprised with PoP3....and please feel free to yell at me if what you see is not what you've been asking for. happy

I know it bombed, but... hm, I'll just excerpt an interview with Ron Gilbert:
http://www.idlethumbs.net/display.php?id=64&p=2
Jake: It seems like every now and then there are games that branch out, I can't think of any of them now, but. You know, the usual list of names—

Chris: Beyond Good and Evil?

Ron: Yeah I mean Beyond Good and Evil, I think that's an interesting, a really good example —

Jake: But it completely died on the vine. I mean, all those games come out, there's like two or three games a year or more that cause people like us, or people who are really into games trying to progress, to say "Ohh, this is fucking great!" Finally there's a game that appeals to everyone and does all these unique things that isn't about being in the mob, and then it always tanks.

Ron: Yeah, you're right. And I think the reason that that happens is, something like Beyond Good and Evil comes out—by the way, my girlfriend bought it, I didn't. She was playing it and enjoying it, and I started playing it.

I think the problem with those games is, publishers put out a new game and then when it fails, they turn around 180 degrees and run away from it. What they need to do, what Ubisoft needs to do, is do Beyond Good and Evil 2. They should immediately turn around and do that again, because that game got very good reviews, it certainly has—I don't know if I'd call it a cult following—a group of people who really like that. There's something about that game that appealed to people. They should hit it again. They should hit it again.

I think one of the problems is that publishers are in this mindset of "Okay, I'm gonna do something new, and it'd better be The Sims. It'd better do that good right out the door, and if it doesn't, I'm going to never ever do anything like that again," and I think that's a really bad way to go about it.
I hope that PoP3 turns out well -- I really liked the first game, but couldn't muster any interest in Warrior Within... so who's Mr. B?
