Ubisoft tease picture of Sam Fisher ahead if SGF

I love Splinter Cell but it's hard to be hyped for anything from Ubisoft these days.

A few decent games here and there the past few years but everything else has been an outright mess.

Let's just hope for the best anyway.

so now they're gonna tuck their tail and run back to the old audience?!?

what happened to the modern audience Ubisoft? did you find them??

If they arent making a new one using Anvil or Snowdrop then just shut up.

Remakes of the first trilogy would be nice, but I really do want a new game.

Model doesn't look cutting edge so it's a remaster I guess.

If it's a remaster of one of the first XBOX Splinter Cell(s) then it's the best possible scenario.

A Splinter Cell remaster the same year as Oblivion Remaster??

Hope a remaster of the trilogy and why not Double Agent (ps360) version. Fuck the others sequels.

Which lead at Ubisoft said this? Are you not aware of the PoP remake and BG&E waiting room that everyone's in?

My guess is it'll either be a remake for part 1, shitty new remasters with barely effort made, or a new entry that's a far departure from the originals.

The only winning scenario is option 1.

This is like the 8th year in a row of
"This year for sure guys!!".

No gender / race swap? Disappointing.

Bold of you to asume the person in the picture is a man.
Also you never know. Maybe Sam Fisher is missing and only his strong and diverse female apprentice can find him (by climbing towers, hiding in tall grass and clearing repetitive enemy camps).

It is. Some missions are incredible. The train one in particular still holds to this day.
Oh man, I remember that mission! I remember shimmying across the side of the train wagon, thinking, "Mission Impossible ain't got shit on this".

If it's double agent it better be the 6th gen version.
Nah. Played both version, ps360 version is infinitely better. It's not bad as Convinction and Blacklist but feel more like a DLC espansion on the older platforms than a separate sku version.

Whatever it is, that image doesn't look like anything good or promising IMO, lol. It's also Ubisoft so it doesn't give me a whole lot of confidence.

A remaster it's about time. Still I don't get it what exactly is so complicate about developing a new chapter with a similar gameplay of the first 3.

That is very much a Pandora Tomorrow cinematic screenshot. Cleaning up the first 3 games for a remaster collection would nice to see especially if they properly rejuvenate the VS modes in PT & CT.

I don't agree at all, the new "cinematic set pieces" they tried to shoe horn on the 7th gen version hurt the game, the story was better handled in the 6th gen version and in general the level design was much better than Shangai's version, plus it feels like a lot of improvements from CT where not included on 7th gen like the ability to control the animation instead of shifting into his neutral stance; the only thing better was the visuals, as expected. But they could do both a solid and include both versions.

I don't know what to tell you. I played both versions never understand how there is someone who can prefer more the past generation port. Even the graphic seems getting worse compared Chaos Theory. But tastes are tastes.

This is the exact same kind of shit everyone said about Conviction and Blacklist and the series died. Then years later everyone acts like it's good when it's far too late.

Feel like with how Splinty is so reliant on light and dark it'd be a prime title to leverage a top tier RTGI implementation. Could really elevate the remake/s (and hopefully a newer game at some point).
