SNK has created more fighting game series than Capcom has.

They also were the first (yes, BEFORE SF3 SNK made sequels with new casts like Art Of Fighting 3) and continue to introduce lots of new characters into their games, so I'm okay with them.
I would like to see something new besides KOF, but they seem to be ready to do something new with the series anyway.

It just seems silly to mark an anniversary with a re-release like they did, especially when SFIII Third Strike is so ancient by video game standards. It really is time for a genre busting Street Fighter IV.
It's not ancient by fighting game standards, and I didn't mind its rerelease, since it only came out for Dreamcast originally. I would have liked to have seen a Vampire Chronicle-style take on the game, with three versions of each character, all the BGMs, all the old backgrounds, etc.
If there's one thing I give Sammy with Guilty Gear Isuka, it's that they at least were trying something new and going all out to add something to the 2D fighter. Capcom should take the hint.
True, but the thing is, developer Arc System Works is also now guilty (no pun intended) of sprite rehashing; there's ONE new character in GG Isuka, and the 4P fighting system they went with didn't exactly turn out that great.
If developers are too lazy to start making brand new, well-animated sprites for their games, move to 3D. Make the game PLAY 2D, but use polygon characters. They could easily be made to look 2D with cel shading, too.
I don't mind crossover games if they're done right (see Neo-Geo Battle Colliseum, with its large roster, NEW sprites, and characters not seen in a decade in some cases), but games like Capcom Fighting Evolution reek of complete laziness.
Make a CFE sequel that uses characters like Dante, Mega Man, Strider, etc., and no shitty art/horrible use of old sprites, and I'll be okay with it, but really, MAKE SOMETHING FUCKING NEW ALREADY. 3D fighting games are guilty of the same thing. Tekken 5 is awesome and all, but there's only THREE new characters, and one of them is just a new version of a previous character.
It's time for all these games to start fresh with new characters. Just include a few older faces for the whiners and you're set.
BTW guys,
The Rumblefish releases for PS2 in Japan next week. I thought it was only an average figher when I tried the arcade version, but I'm still looking forward to something NEW and hopefully it will be a better game than I thought ater I spend some time with it.
