Has Dana tweeted yet? This is a fucking traveshamockery! And fuck Joe for trying to rationalize this. There is no rationale. This was a robbery....PERIOD. GSP has a face period. Johnny looks as ugly as when he walked into the ring. PEACE.

GSP has always got cut on his face easily... Doesn't mean shit.

will gently cradle you as time slowly ticks away.
That is the single worst robbery I have ever witnessed in a UFC title fight.

I guess the significance of the fight makes it outweigh Kampfmann/Sanchez for me.

GSP had his moments, but Hendricks was clearly winning. The fact that the ref stopped it when Hendricks could have got the finish is jarring as fuck, and hopefully gets called out.

I guess that early takedown by GSP in round 1 probably tipped the round in his favour. The number of landed strikes in that round were pretty even I think.

Once again GSP has saved this sinking ship from going under. I could not have seen this division let alone this company surviving if some rag tag hill billy with a horse shoe in his glove would have won. So while GSP may be taking an indefinite sabbatical let us remind of ourselves that this is a sport and not some uncouth slobberknocker trash tv, where the sweaty farmer can beat the sophisticated French canadian.

Round 1 to GSP is clownshoes. There is no way he won that round.

I scored Gus/Jones 3/2 Gus but that was a fight where I could easily and have no problems with scoring it 3/2 for Jones. This was not one of those fights.

Hendricks won that fight AT WORST 3-2.

God damn. That was amazing. Main card was so much better than I expected, prelims were so much worse. I can't disagree with the decision. I had it either a draw or a win for GSP, depending on a really close first round. Johnny Hendricks clearly won that fight but he did it by beating the hell out of GSP in the second and coming out in the fourth with a reserve can of gas that he didn't seem to have in the third. Blame the unified rules if you want, but I really think that's a solid 48-47 decision for GSP in a fight he lost.

lol.

As a GSP fan, there's no way he won that fight. He had one good round, one semi-good round, and three rounds were he was totally ineffective and got knocked around a lot.

BUT...I saw the decision going his way when the last round ended. Hendricks needed to end that fight after he completely rocked GSP in the second round. Instead, he stepped off the gas in the third, which was coincidentally GSP's best in the fight.

Hendricks was obviously not that gassed since he came back with a fury later in the fight. I don't know what his thought process was, but the third round won GSP that split decision.

Sorry guys, I have to disagree completely.

This fight was 3-2 hendriks, but it was SO CLOSE, that the TIE always goes to the champ.

It happens in every single fighting sport, does not matter the damage, if the fight is close, you give it to the champ.

good call

Champ gets the benefit in a close round. The very fact you scored 3-2 means he gets no benefit.

GSP is his PPV golden boy. I doubt he lashes out at him.

This is true but how much can you love your golden boy after he tells everyone he's gotta "hang up his gloves for awhile" without checking with you first? Can't cake off a champ who ain't fighting.

I actually used to think that Tony Weeks was competent too. I'm not sure how a boxing guy like him can not see Hendricks outstriking GSP in that round.

Yo why did the third judge write Split Decision victory in pen? Am I tripping or shouldn't he have not known that since he's supposed to be on a whole other side of the cage from the previous two?

I guess that could just be his personal notes but in the height of this robbery I'm paranoid.

While people might think this decision is "bad" for the UFC, it's literally the exact opposite.

1 - This gets a TON of press now, good or bad
2 - This sets up a rematch, where hendricks will try to knock GSP out next fight.

I'm more shocked people are disputing the first round. I thought the third round was the one that could really go either way.
Also I thought GSP was gonna kill Rogen when he wouldn't let go of the mic haha

GSP is going to go find his smile or throw bricks in a lake. What rematch? The fact that GSP now knows Hendricks is stronger than him and just as good a wrestler probably will make him want to make that temporary retirement and make it even longer.

GSP will wait for Condit to beat Hendricks and then come back out from retirement.

"never leave it in the hands of the judges" is such bullshit. That would be like telling batters to swing at every bad 3-2 pitch, because if a ball is out of the strike zone you should "never leave it in the hands of the umpires". It's their fucking job, and they fail consistantly when it matters most.

It seems GSP's brain isn't the only one that got hurt.

Let's be honest: GSP is cheered in Canada. They can just sell him as a heel to the other crowds. Please cut me some slack for not thinking straight, it's 7 am over here.

Gotta hype the rematch.

Y'all have more trust in Dana than I do. GSP's star power in his home country is so big I don't think Dana can offer enough money to get a timely rematch. GSP's going to retire and move on to movies and tv spots, keeping all his sponsors and the various UFC records he has. He's gonna Mayweather Market himself except he'll stay retired now that he's faced someone who can cancel out ALL his strengths.
