I'm giving this one a miss. I like Pereira, he's an exciting fighter, but any time one of those Russian chinbeards is involved, there's a strong chance of 25 minutes of wrestle-humping. I just can't watch them.
Anka is more of a striker, if he try to wrestle for 25 min he is gonna gas out, it is not a coimcidence that you barely see any good dagestani in the higher weight classes, big man skills are inferior to small men skills and the size would make them gas out after 2 round of pure wrestling.

Dude is gonna try to stand with pereira a little bit.

I hope so. I was reading about it on Sherdog, and almost half of Ankalaev's fights go to the judges.

Sherdog's pick is Ankalaev by decision. Some choice quotes from their preview:

"The [Paul Craig defeat] has seemingly sent Ankalaev into a permanent state of caution, turning him into an overly patient kickboxer who rarely looks to wrestle."
"...interminable fights against higher-ranked opponents"
"...staring matches where Ankalaev did just enough against opponents unable to pull the trigger"
"...if he decides to start wrestling in the second or third round, the fun could be over as far as Pereira’s title reign is concerned."

Yeah, the dude has no capability of ending a fight with ground and pound or submissions, he mostly beat people in the standing or go to decision, his finish ground istinct is not on the level of someone like glover (that is training pereira), the dude absolutely starched jan when the fight got to the ground when he won the belt while anka wasn't able to finish jan woth ground and pound in their fight.

If the god of combat sports exist, pereira smash his jaw and dance the macarena over his unconscious body by round 3.

I hope Poatan destroys that stupid owl faced Ankalaev.
I think he look more like a troll.

I simply can't stand the chin beard fake smiles. Poatan by TKO 3-4 round

I believe Anka's strategy will be to spar with Poatan for the first 3 rounds and if Poatan does not give him one hell of a beating and finish the fight, Anka will enter wrestle mode to score takedown points on the 4-5th round.
Lets see if he has the gas to outscore Poatan for 3/5 rounds. Usually the Champ win if it goes the distance.

last three coming up i picked pereira, gaethje and bahamondes. turner/bahamondes both same height and i think turner is mostly a striker i know bahamondes is and a beast should be close i think but i like the momentum/energy bahamondes has going for him trains with belal so probably got some good practice with him for wrestling if he needs to go there.

picked gaethje over fiziev since he already beat him the first fight and did some serious damage too and this is short notice for fiziev i think like a week, but fiziev been training and staying in shape and gaethje is coming back from a loss so maybe we'll have a close fight.

picked pereira over ankalaev it only takes him one or two shots to KO someone and I believe he can KO ankalaev but still this match up makes me nervous you know ankalaev is going to use some wrestling hes not going to stand with Pereira the whole fight I hope pereiras wrestling with glover is developed enough to stuff most of the take downs otherwise this will be a long fight I'm definitely not going to count ankalaev out he also has a bunch of finishes too. though in his past fight with jan he couldn't withstand the leg kicks and I imagine pereira kicks much harder than jan so that should be another advantage for alex in this matchup. please win Alex to get that heavyweight fight with Bone Jones :messenger_beaming:

ankalaev bout to go hard as hel! if he loses he knows he'll have to fight like 5 more times and win to get back a title shot
