I've been defending Michael Fucking Jackson since he got arrested. I remember saying nothing's gonna happen, he probably didn't do it, he's not going to jail, it's all for show, and money, again, and voila. Now it's over a year later. Nothing's happening. When he got arrested, I remember some posters adamantly lashing out on him, shitting all over him senseless. Now it's the same. Only it's gotten to the point where the people shitting all over him blindly are starting to spread the shit to the ones defending him. Relax. I don't know what it is about the guy, but some of you want him locked up more than the kid accusing him of molestation. Evidently.
I'm not lashing out at him, I'm just assessing the situation. Look at his track record. He hangs out/"naps" with underaged kids, in seclusion, in a private room with camera-monitored entryways. He's already settled the first suit complete with a non-disclosure agreement and a huge sum of hush money.
Even assuming the initial allegations were all false and he merely settled the suit to avoid being dragged through the mud, I can't have an ounce of sympathy for him when he STILL procedes to fraternize with pre-pubescent boys, especially given the fact that he has to know that he would be a target for gold-diggers. Why would you continue to do things of that nature given what you've already been through? What rational person would risk putting themselves through that all over again, if they were
innocent? It certainly reeks of someone who refuses to dispense with their abnormal tendencies and lends credence to suspicions of guilt. If I was wrongly accused of a crime, particularly something as heinous as Jacko was accused of, I would take every precaution possible to avoid the scenario repeating itself.
And none of that takes into consideration his extremely oddball tendencies and the sheltered alternative universe in which he resides. Those things might only make him guilty in the court of public opinion, but the fact is that eccentricity is often characteristic of sex offenders, serial killers etc.
It's true, I don't know all the facts in this case, but when you use a little hindsight and add a dash of common sense, it's not difficult to come to the conclusion that the prospect of Jacko being innocent is slim. I don't think the timetable necessarily has to do with the merit of the case, but rather likely has to do with making sure that the allegations can be corroborated with evidence that is beyond reproach (thus the extended search the other day). I would assume that in a case as high profile as this one, the prosecution would like to make as thorough a case as possible so as to avoid another OJ scenario where they get their ass handed to them.
