Gofreak, that 7billion number for the GPU is not through put. However, one must also take the 8 APU 4 billion number with a pinch of salt, don't we!

Of course, it's a theoretical max, a guesstimate at this stage, even, as I i think I mentioned. Faf's point is that R500's theoretical max won't reach 10x the x800's performance (i.e. 7bn).

My point still holds even if we cut the figure in half, though - we're talking at a level of sub-pixel polygons, most likely, for both systems. IMO, thus, the effect of even more vertex performance begins to diminish...pixel shading will become the stress point, I think.
