Terrible sound quality at the Downing St system. He already looks like a loser.

Edit: oh the BBC cleared it up. They must've been using the incorrect feed. Nice one fellas :lol

The last possible date would have been June 3rd. He was kind of pressured into today's date by the media.

I look forward to seeing what the new thread title will be! I assume PoliGAF is in there at some point and how awesome Britain is (even thogh our politicians suck?)

Heh, the opening of the new parliament will be May 18, because of the possibility of a hung parliament and all of the complicated shit that will bring.

Yeah it's going to be UK PoliGAF. I'll try to make the thread title but but I prefer just having a straight short title as opposed to something cultivated.

I despise him.

Whoever had the idea of replacing Andrew Marr with that second-rate ITV clown needs to be fired.

Hah I was only kidding. Short and sweet is usually the best route.

Clegg should've done his speech outside too.

Same. Funny thing is I'm probably not going to go with Lib Dem, Labour or Conservative. Think I'm gonna vote SNP, but it depends.

Look at your constituency's previous results and check the projected outcome (if possible) and vote accordingly. It's what I do. My area is generally a Liberal Democrat stronghold but the Tories are getting closer because of my region constantly being gerrymandered. So I vote Liberal Democrat.

What do you have to say for planned National Insurance tax rise? I think Labour has made quite a big error with this tax increase and when the electorate start to get their paychecks at the end of April, they won't be happy. Already quite a few of my friends (who aren't natural Tory voters and by no means are 'rich') have said that the planned NI increase is going to influence how they vote.

Just noticed this on the last page. You realise the planned NI increase wouldn't come in until April 2011, right?

(Though there will effectively be an increase in taxation this year as well due to personal allowances being frozen at 2009/10 levels.)

Yeah, I'm registered to vote in Stirling which is currently Labour, but the SNP won the last Scottish one there. It'll probably be close, but it'll be one of those 2 that will win. Lib Dem and the Conservatives have no chance really.

I actually live in Glasgow mostly, but I'm registered to vote at my parents address, since voting for anyone other than Labour in Glasgow is absolutely pointless. Despite the scale of the problems that city has, they never ever seem to think that if they changed party, somethings might actually be improved. :lol

Sadly, I'm in a Tory Stronghold, would like Lib Dems in, but that would involve a swing of 45% or 21,000 votes, sucks being in the country sometimes :/

I'm in a Labour/Tory marginal, but have zero desire to vote for either them, so instead i'm going to go Lib Dem. This decision annoys my passionate tory family, my dad is a member of the party, a fair bit, but at least i'm not voting labour.

The thing is, Labour are just tired and past it. I don't support the Conservatives at all, but I do agree with the sentiment that the country just needs something different, a burst of life into the country.

Labour's negative campaigning is just awful.

Im genuinely undecided and I dont think any single party can completely convince me to vote for them so I'll probably end up voting for whoever makes the best impression in the last few days before the election.

Nicola Sturgeon might disagree with your second paragraph. ;) But yeah, Glasgow's the most socialist part of the country (and by that I mean the UK.) And I'd go on a limb and say that most Labour MPs in Glasgow are still socialist as well.

Oh, and all of you people in England should count yourself lucky. If you think the Labour party in England is awful, they have NOTHING on the Scottish Labour party. They have a leader I barely know the name of, no policies in the slightest, and no vision for Scotland.

All they ever do is say the SNP suck. Literally, that's it.

I'm in the Aberconwy constituency for the election, which is a Labour seat with the Tories not too far behind. Still, I'll be voting Lib Dem...

Scottish Labour fell totally apart after the SNP won in 2007. I couldn't tell you their leader right now either. All I remember is Wendy Alexander's hilarious tenure as leader and her completely "WTF moment" of backing of a referendum on Scottish independence.

No I didn't actually. I assumed that when they were talking (before April '10) about the tax increase 'next year', they were going on about the next tax year. That's a shame, I was hoping a lot of people would be so pissed at the tax increase on their paycheck this month that they would vote for the Tories in droves. My bad.

The village I'm at University in is strongly Lib Dem, but the town it's right next to and, by proxy, my constituency, is a scum sucking social welfare black hole. Basically, they vote Labour to keep the free money coming in.

I'm not some upper or middle cass snob when I say that, but the whole town (Pontypridd) is a graveyard of ambition, and the people there basically exist to collect their next handout. The actual town is equally depressing and very 1984; they have clearly visible cameras hoisted on poles that tower above most of the buildings, and everywhere you walk a depressingly dour voice plays repeating messages about what you should and shouldn't do, cycling between English and Welsh versions of the same messages. This kind of thing is what the negligent council spends its money on when there's a boiling pot of other issues that could be solved with better funding.

Sums up Labour, basically.
