This stemming from twenty years of offering fake classes leading to degrees affecting at least 3,100 students with a large part of those being geared towards athletes. This also after initially not being as detailed as necessary in the initial investigation. It took a 3rd party investigation to get to the bulk of the issues.
SACS claims this is the toughest sanction they can levy. Of course they can also pull accreditation. SACS is one of the six major regional accreditors and accredits traditional academic schools in the southeast US.
Too big to fail probably....
Fun fact, they have yanked accreditation before from major schools and systems dating back to at least UGA in 1940.
