Don't say never. Demographic shifts dictate that Texas WILL go blue eventually. Just not now. Or in the next three election cycles.

Some states you could probably put up a dog with a party affiliation and they'd win. Rural voters are going to go with Trump, urban centers for Clinton. It's more of a matter of enthusiasm from those bases, and changing demographics in the states.
