Does not compute. You start off with a statement that asks whether or not the country was divided after 9-11. Of course it was. You then go into the following years and discuss division that happened down the road, and that is a true statement as well. However the two are not related.

I'm not saying there's a direct correlation, but there was definitely a notable influence. An overwhelming majority, in the US and globally, were supportive and/or understanding of the initial action taken in Afghanistan. However, Bush's future foreign policy, specifically the whole ordeal in Iraq and his seemingly blatant disregard of the UN, assisted in creating that rift, IMO.
