From Unreal Engine Twitter

The funniest part of it: it's all "RTX OFF" as I have predicted.
To make cinematic level graphics you need a fast data streaming solution (SSD) and not RT.
I want to see a lot of crow eating...

Hope to see a real game running in it soon, the original UE4 demo really never got matched by games.

If games are close to this though, it'll be fantastic

Have these unreal engine demo videos ever had a game in the upcoming generation ever get close?

I'd say Batman Arkham Knight was better than anything we saw for UE3

Impressive. Super surprised about that date. I was told in January that UE5 was still a couple years off. Maybe they scaled MVP or maybe my buddy was just off on his estimate.
Regardless, glad to see it in action and cannot wait time see some real games using it later in the gen.

In January, a buddy of yours told you that UE5 was still a couple of years away. Full UE5 will release in late 2021. That's almost 2 years isn't it?

Refreshing. I hope you won't turn this into another PC vs Consoles and understand we all benefit from it.

Tim Sweeney talking the PS5 SSD

Sweeney says that Sony’s storage architecture is far ahead of “the best SSD solution you can buy on PC today. And so it’s really exciting to be seeing the console market push forward the high-end PC market in this way.”

“[The PS5] puts a vast amount of flash memory very, very close to the processor,” says Sweeney. “So much that it really fundamentally changes the trade-offs that games can make and stream in. And that’s absolutely critical to this kind of demo,” Sweeney explained.

“This is not just a whole lot of polygons and memory. It’s also a lot of polygons being loaded every frame as you walk around through the environment and this sort of detail you don’t see in the world would absolutely not be possible at any scale without these breakthroughs that Sony’s made.”
