Unredacted reaction to PS5's reveal, "We have a better product than Sony does" - Phil Spencer 30% GPU advantage

The only advantage which the system still has over PS5 on the software level is Quick Resume. It baffles me that PS5 still hasn't implemented something like that (don't bring up the activity cards because they're NOT the same functionality).
It has challenges like resuming online connected games, but like any suspend feature does to be fair. Maybe they are worried about storage use? Their base model ship with a hundred or so GB less in storage so lowering it by another 64 GB or so (about 4 games) may be a bit unpalatable, but maybe they will surprise us.

To be fair if developers invest in maxing their I/O pipeline properly it could be a lot less of a nuisance not having Quick Resume, but likely they do not want to commit to rushing out something potentially risky too soon if they currently are still making customers happy as things are now and fundamentally there are ways to get back in your game fast enough.

Being able to resume one out of multiple games (you can already resume the game you are currently playing) might be a small percentage of the users actually so not moving the needle for them yet…

Yeah Quick Resume when it works is awesome, I had quite a few issues with it in the early days and then could never trust it so it became redundant for me. I presume that by now it is all fixed?

I've only ever had a problem with those AAA games that want to be constantly connected to the internet and even though you've quick resumed they'll take you to the main menu to reconnect.
Otherwise I'm usually surprised at how long it keeps a game in quick resume. Sometimes I won't touch one for months and it'll still be ready to go.

It's like people have collectively forgotten that Xbox used to be good.

It all went to shit when they started to focus on the Kinect and Xbox One was the last straw.
But I remember the good days.

Shenmue 2 exclusive (Europe and NA)
Jet set radio Future
Sega GT
DOA 3/DOA Ultimate/DOA 4
Otogi 1 & 2
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Ninja gaiden 1 & 2 (2 of the GOAT action games)
Kingdom under fire 1,2 & Circle of Doom
Crimson Skies
Amped 1 & 2
Mech assault
Metal Wolf chaos
PGR games

...so many good exclusives man, the OG xbox was the little big black box that could and as for the X360...it was generation defining for its day (Xbox Live etc).

Nowadays...yeah

Out of 4 gens, MS had one that was somewhat successful, which still ended up 3rd place and that was due to a year head start, moneyhatting and Sony fucking up the launch of their least successful console.

There was also a green one, a transparent green Halo one, a transparent one and a blue one.

The OG was black though.
