That's the point, it's intentional. The game is trying to be a horror movie and is fan service to anyone who enjoys b horror movies, think Cabin in the Woods (Great movie)
But all characters can live or die so I'm sure you will have fun killing them.

Holy.. that's quite the difference. Must've been quite expensive pretty much doing a big part of the game twice.
