unusual roles in games

so basicaly the idea is to compile a list of game where you have to play the role of something you don't see often in games

Phoenix Wright - Attorney
Mr.Mosquito - Mosquito
trashman_01.gif
- Trashman

Super Mario

A plumber in overalls that runs around jumping on mushrooms and turtles, between crazy mushroom hallucinations while falling down pipes.

Hmm. Yea.

Planescape: Torment - You're an amnesic immortal.
Oh and your (possible) buddies are a floating skull, a thief with demonic blood in her veins, a dude who can shape his sword with his will, a succubus, a burning mage, a living armour and a defective robot...

Broken Sword - Wisecracking patent attorney.

Eternal Darkness - I'm not going to write that all down...

Vagrant story - The reinforcements. :D

Blood Will Tell: Osamu Tezuka's Dororo - You're pretty much disabled, but you've got some top notch medieval cyborg technology to keep you going. *cough* The game starts in black & white until you get your first eye back, actually.

What's 'usual' in games, anyway? Young townsfolk, soldiers, spies...?
Game characters' roles are all over the place... It would be truly unusual if the characters' roles would impact the gameplay too.

Facade - Regular human being that doesn't shoot anyone or jump on the heads of enemies or fight dragons or travel through space.

Anachronox - Democratus, a planet that firstly is a big level on which you do your usual RPG stuff aka Quests, then it becomes small (like 100000000 times smaller) and joins your party as a party member. Later on, it can return to the former, larger size at will and your party can continue exploring it.

Whoa, that sounds really awesome and creative!

Rez - you change shapes a bit, that much i gather. but what exactly are you? uh . . . information? energy?

Pac Man - What the hell IS he? A Pac? What is a Pac? Steve Jobs is good at answering tough questions and painting a picture for the purpose of understanding complex concepts, let's get him on this one.

Siren 2, a blind person.
Oh yes, that was f*cking awesome.

I loved Siren 2 (I still fear the initial encounter with the "changed Tomoe" *shudder*). Can't wait to replay the game on my new Pioneer 5080HD (finally, deep blacks).

Pokémon
-How many cases of parents letting their underage kids travel around the world (by themselves), talking to total strangers and fighting wild animals...are out there? :D [heck, those same parents even give you 'shoes' to run faster...instead, of ..I don't know?..Food?...Money?!] :lol

It certainly is.

You can read on this party member here:

You had 7 party members in Anachronox with only 3 in the active party at any current moment.

Other than Democratus there was this drunkard superhero called Paco:

Anachronox was the greatest western jRPG ever made.

I remember hearing about the game a looong time ago, like how the lead producer made everyone play through Chrono Trigger before starting work on the game, which made it sound really interesting to me, but the release was really quiet and I never even remembered it actually coming out. Would be a great candidate for a Steam rerelease methinks.
