Just was announced vis-a-vis Revolution which does not appear in the chart, Game Boy Micro the private corner to be provided, it had reached the point where touches anyone. damn if they had just added a memory card slot and add on a mp3 player, THEY WOULD OF MADE SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL!.

I guess thats for next year...
 
looks good to me. Don't really like the white writing on the buttons and dpad, but that's just being picky.

It does, that's just how Pokemon looks (the area outside the walls is black). I remember this causing a ruckus with that fake mod for the DS that allowed it to play GB/C games.

The unit will be able to play all existing Game Boy Advanced titles, but it won't be able to play Game Boy or Game Boy Color games, since the unit no longer has the legacy Game Boy cartridge support. Nintendo is making no qualms about the fact that the Micro is more of a marketing design than a gaming design. The purpose behind the Micro is to reach a broader market that focuses on form over function.

Conflicting reports, this needs to be resolved.

That said, I'm glad you can at least change the faceplates, cause I'm not a fan of "Nintendo Silver". They really should make black an option for all their handhelds, not only does it look better but it puts the focus on the vivid screen.

Man, that screen is going to look absolutely miniscule after playing a PSP.
 
Woah, that is tiny in comparison, but then the only reason I would want one is to have some quality gaming that fits in my jeans pocket.
 
Even though to date I've bought:

GBA
GBA SP
GBA NES SP
Nintendo DS

I've gotta hand it to them. They'll sell me on MORE hardware if they can display the kind of awesome minimalist (but hawt) design that they've shown with Revolution and GB Micro.

Hell screw everything I've bought so far. Somebody can benefit from finding them cheap in a pre-owned section in a years time. Give me a GB Micro, take the GBA port out of the DS and give me a sexier DS too. Count me in!
 
I saw it in person. Screen is really sharp and bright. Amazing that the only thing holding it back from being even smaller is the cartridge.

It doesn't have the old standard link port, so you'd need an adaptor. Not a great solution, but there shouldn't be any reason it can't work.
 
This will sell like hotcakes, especially with the customizable faceplates. I don't own a GBA so I'll be picking this one up, as long as its under $100.

The wooden-panel faceplates are classic =)
 
Thing will sell to the most casual-of-casual markets. I don't think the SP succeeded in penetrating into the casua/trendy market simply b/c the unit ccouldn't fit too easily into a front-pocket or purse. Sold mostly to people looking to upgrade or late adopters. The micro will certainly appeal to people who don't think of themselves as "gamers". My guess is that it will retail for $99.
 
Wow, I predict the Micro will be a huge hit as long as Nintendo hits the right price point. Although what do I know there are already people in this thread saying they'd pay a hundred bucks for it :lol. I'm almost tempted depending on how comfortable it actually is for normal sized hands.

WHY THE HELL DO PEOPLE KEEP SAYING THIS?

Why would someone who is "NOT A GAMER" buy a GAME SYSTEM which doesn't do anything else? I can see a "non-gamer" becoming interested in games which are available for some other platform they already own: cell phone, PDA, PC. I can ALMOST see them being interested in a convergence device like a PSP, although that's a big chunk of disposable income for someone who is primarily interested in playing music and movies on the go.

But why in the world would they buy a device for $80+ (the current GBA SP price point) which only plays games? That argument does NOT make any sense whatsoever.
 
eh, this is completely useless. GBASP is small enough to carry everywhere and have a decent experience without killing your eyes.
 
Why are people saying it'll be so cheap? It's a gameboy, but much smaller.......smaller tech is more expensive.

And for shit's sake........how many different Gameboys can Nintendo crap out every year?

An NES controller is 4-7/8in x 2-1/8in, GB Micro is 4in x 2in, so hold an NES controller and imagine. If you don't have an NES... for shame. :)

Looking at the pictures of the guy holding it -- I surmised it would probably be around the size of an NES controller :). I'm definitely interested because I prefer a horizontal orientation over the SP, which is too cramped for my hands. It's got to be under $50 for me to want one though; no way in hell I'd pay $80-100 for one. As for why it might be cheaper: shrinking things can also save costs (and usually does). Dumping GB/GBC compatibility (if true) probably also save some change.
 
I think Folder desserves an appology from some of you.

However, Spong rumored that this new GBA would be wireless and might have media capabilities...which are still unanswered questions at this point.

I think Nintendo would probably be touting it if it were wireless and I also think they're saving the multimedia funtions for a western version of the Play-Yan. THESE are the questions the press should be asking Nintendo 'cos if they're doing the multimedia thing that would only make this thing EXPLODE for Nintendo hitting the mass market. And as far as wireless goes this would help keep this kind of product "in the game" for GBA games that use wireless as well as future wireless connectivity to the Revolution perhaps (for instance, downloading a NES game from the Revolution to the GBA micro for portable play). Another thing is what about connectivity? The mini-EXT I would imagine would be a "multi-out" for recharging as well as link play, but to what extent? Will it allow for the wireless adaptor (for the new PokeMon games) or what about GCN connectivity? I think Nintendo is missing a big oppurtunity with that 'cos let's say you have an existing GBA or GBA SP, wouldn't it be a benifit to allow you to beef up your connectivity player count by buying this new GBA? Here's hoping for built-in wireless and SOME kind of GCN link being available...also hoping for the Play-Yan to come over too!

Nintendo is obviously wanting to extend the life of GBA and this will help...but I think the line needs more. Suppossedly Nintendo is slashing the licencing according to 2ch and I think Nintendo should use that to make it able to port new celphone/mobile games to it to keep the software lineup alive. Plus they should do things with hardware...a GBA celphone cart, a GBA camera cart and of course the Play-Yan (which would also be GBA & NDS compatible too)!

I love the design, the screen is smaller, but not so small that it'll be much of a strain (since celphones use similar sized screens). The D-Pad and buttons are more "normal" which I think is better than the ones on the GBA SP and the L & R buttons look more comfy too. Also...I like it being almost "wearable" sized. Plus I like the interchangable faceplate thing (one of the only redeeming qualities of the X-BOX 360 design IMO).
