(Up Close) Game Boy Micro!

God, that thing is so small and sexy. Maybe screen size won't make a difference for GBA games. I'd love one cheap, but this could possibly sell at around $60, so I doubt it.

This isn't gonna attract new gamers, it's gonna sell to the GB audience okay? The only thing I'm annoyed about people saying is that it should cost $50. This is smaller, smaller doesn't mean cheaper, it means more cost. You're lucky if it sells for less than $100. BTW, they're only able to do this update because of the psp, so you gotta thank sony for that, and nokia for the sp revision.

It may not (still need confirmation) play GB/GBC games, it has a better but still smaller screen, it's coming out this fall and the technology is way old. We're not comparing it to how the GBA has been priced thus far, we're looking at what it offers, what the market will be when it comes out and what it should be priced when that is compared to similar devices (not what somewhat greedy Nintendo would price it). It also has a simpler design and uses less parts, it really should be cheaper. I think $50 but I wouldn't be surprised if they go $60.

Either way, If its less than $100 (even $60-80). It will clean up and make PSP look like a overpriced piece of kit. Especailly if Nintendo develops and promotes PLAYAN right alongside the micro.

Please don't rosebud my PSP :(

This would be much better than hauling around my DS, just pull it out of my pocket and bam.

There are still GBA games to play, so this isn't such a bad thing.

Just waiting on that price...

damn if they had just added a memory card slot and add on a mp3 player, THEY WOULD OF MADE SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL!.

I guess thats for next year...

Well, uh...at the GB Micro booth there is something talking about an SD card adaptor and it has a few of them looping the Zelda trailer over and over on the GB Micro. The video looked very good, surprisingly. I have a picture of this and maybe a video that my friend took...don't know when I can get that up though.

nintendo should have put 512mb-1GB flash memory with mp3 playback as well...

And a mini-hard drive to copy GBA games to. You turn on the Micro and it asks if you want to copy the cart to its HDD. Let's say maybe 5 games max. Throw in your memory stick loaded with music and you're set.

I don't know of that's possible though...

No one's been to nintendo.com? Shame on you guys.

Nearly 700 games are now available for Game Boy Advance.
Now for a silly question - how many games are available for the GBA?

Can it still link up with the gamecube? If it's cheap it wouldn't be too bad as a crystal chronicles / zelda controller.
Just from personal experience with Four Swords, looking at a 32" screen then looking at the SP screen isn't fun. Took me a while to adjust to switching between both screens.

i'd love it if Nintendo bundled the Play Yan in this and jacked the price up a bit, but they wouldn't be able to sell it at the $79.99 - $99.99 price they're likely to sell it at, at least not while enjoying the lofty price margins on GB hardware. i wouldn't put it past Nintendo to release a new DS with Play Yan built-in in the future, though it would lack the portability of the SP and Micro.

The entire casing was customized at the E3 display. This includes the metal casing which matched the faceplates. Whether or not that will be how it is in the end, I don't know.

I made this, it may put things more into perspective for those of us who didn't go to E3.

That screen is too small. I keep thinking that text from some GBA games will look illegible on the thing (thanks to scaling).

Wha? It doesn't scale down, it has just as many pixels as the SP screen. It's going to be nice and bright and razor sharp.

As long as you hold it six inches from your face. i'm so tempted to get one, but the only time i'd be able to play it is in bed, and then i'd be cheating on my PSP.

The GBA has a screen which is slightly larger then the actual resolution for games, so the picture on GBA is a bit blown up.
When you play GBA games on DS they have the correct resolution. Not that both GBA and DS has the same screen size but DS has a higher resolution screen.

Micro will be an attractive piece if it retails for $40 something.

By the size comparisons on that picture, the GBA micro won't even be able to insert GBA games :D :D :D

based on that, it looks easier to hold/handle than the SP. Definitely gonna get this, maybe two.

Games are inserted from the bottom. What you're seeing on top are the triggers.
