New nsfw Mary Skelter preview....

Is this really needed in every drpg now?

I was expecting worse. I think that game with the guns that kinda plays like VC, and that other one which is an arpg(?) that I think is based on a anime/manga are lewder.

Rubbing mini games are so boring; the closest I've gotten to enjoying one is in TMGS3 on the psp, which replaces the touching from the DS version with prompts from the joysticks. The one in FE was good for giggles once or twice, but I was kinda relieved that it was removed in the NA version.

Just picked up a Vita again, looking for visual novels.

I already have the Danganronpa's and Zero Escapes.

Also any games that are just a fun romp like Muramasa and Severed.

Hu, never heard of this. Funbox Media Ltd ist really a strange publisher.

Space Hulk was such a strange Vita port. Then picking up XBlaze 1 was also bizarre.

Even if they still seem to be working on the Vita version of Neon Chrome, it seems 10Tons is bringing another game to Vita, Xenoraid.

Nice! They've been a solid Vita supporter. I sincerely hope they get Neon Chrome working though, because everything I've heard about it makes it seem like exactly my kinda thing.

Yeah, I've held off the PC version pretty much since launch because I'd be much more likely to play this on Vita and it looks great.

Not sure on how likely it is on Uppers get brought across now, but I hope it does get released outside of Japan as while it has its fair share of problems, I'm actually really enjoying it.
The combat is pretty bare bones, you have just enough moves that it isn't spamming the square button endlessly, but you could probably play the game that way if you wanted to. The challenges add the extra meat to the game that unless you can read Japanese or are using a guide its just a case of guessing the right move to use in any given challenge. I'm only using a guide for reference when stuck, but its fairly easy to figure out. Its far more fun using all the moves and environmental attacks in my opinion - sending someone flying who then smashes through a wall, then you chase after him and continue on with the brawl (maybe smashing a desk or two over his head for good measure) feels pretty fun, as are the finisher moves which are basically hit circle in the glowing area to do a silly finishing move on an enemy (send them through the floor, into a neon sign, into a helicopter etc.)

My main issue remains with the games difficulty, I think hard mode should be normal difficulty and hard mode be harder still. Its early days for me (chapter 2) but I still feel like it should be harder, doing flashy yet shallow combos and attacks will eventually get boring and I'm hoping the difficulty is there to provide me with enough challenge to see me through to the end, else it'll be like Warriors Orochi 3 where I'm insanely overpowered and nothing is a challenge anymore.
Oh, and the characters really could have used more variety in moves lists, as they are all the same (but the attacks look different). Basically it feels like a very old 2D side scrolling brawler, except without the brutal challenge you'd usually expect. Perfect pick up and play game though, missions aren't overly long so I can play a few when I have the odd 30 minutes free.

Liam from 2BF Play's video on it sold me on the game. Sure it looks silly and shallow, but I reckon I'd love it.

Will import if need be,but I think it has a decent shot at coming across, so I'm waiting to see what happens.

I'd say the silliness sells the game, at least for me it is. I just did an optional level where I had the boss bounce off of explosive barrels like a pinball, it was hilarious to watch. It is shallow no doubt though, but I'm strangely addicted to trying to collect the love letters from each girl (which are collected by completing challenges, except you might get powerups instead, so there is an element of randomness at play that is either really annoying or really addictive, I can't work out which).

Today I picked up a used black vita 1.0 with case, ridge racer( meh), and 16gb card for $75. Gonna pass that to my 17 year old son and want to get some multiplayer games. Any suggestions?

Rayman Legends
Spelunky
Towerfall
Dragon's Crown

And I really can't think of any more than that. :/

But Rayman is a blast in local multiplayer.

Thanks, I have the wii U version of rayman legends, and PC version of spelunky. Any reason to double dip( beyond portability of course)?

Also, whats considered the best 'monster hunter clone'? Ive been a bit out of the vita scene lately, but trying to hop back in.

If you choose the cheaper option it's about that long, yeah. If you don't mind paying more for EMS you can get it in 2-3 days.

I think you can take your time, take Digimon for example it's still available. I have a big backlog but I ordered DQ Builders since Asian releases usually doesn't get big discounts anyways.

Trophy lists for the two Atari Flashback Classics (1 and 2) have appeared and both have Vita listed as a platform (alongside PS4).

Time for speculation: a mistake? port cancelled and forgot to update the lists? just an unnanounced game?

PS: As far as I know, Atari hasn't said exactly in what consoles the games are launching on, but in their PR of June they said "next-generation consoles". If that includes the Vita, I don't know. But seemingly both collections are being handled by Code Mystics, the port team of the NeoGeo classics, who have done Vita versions before, so who knows if the games will hit Vita or not.

Who do you guys think is the biggest PlayStation Vita supporter nowadays? As much as people are saying PQube, they just entered the game recently, I feel like Aksys is the biggest one so far.

I had lost all faith for Tokyo Xanadu and here it is, thanks to them. I thought Norn9 would be the last otome for the Vita and here they are, FOUR new ones next year. Oh, and don't forget 999.

They're the real MVP.

Probably either Aksys or IFI. It'd definitely be IFI if they bothered localizing the Genkai Tokki games, I hope we at least get Mary Skelter since they have nothing else to bring over other than Black Rose Valkyrie on PS4.

I WOULD say Bandai-Namco but recent actions has me thinking their Vita days are over starting early next year :(. I will give them credit for finally localizing the God Eater games and for bring over SAO Hollow Realization.......just picking up those three games much later now considering the typo they made most recently.

But I agree with you Shizuka; Aksys Games is a big player on the Vita scene and they have a lot of games releasing over the next few months.

I would also count NIS America and Idea Factory as major Vita supporters too, as both publishers are continuing to bringing games to the Vita at a frequent pace. I know NIS America might not be many's top choice as THE major Vita supporter but titles they released this year like Grand Kingdom and Psycho Pass really impressed me with their quality and polish.

Edit: Another positive note note for Idea Factory is that their biggest franchise (Neptunia) has gotten ALOT of games released on the Vita with over eight titles in the series on Vita. This also doesn't count visual novels they produced on the platform, MeiQ and other titles.

In general; Bandai Namco. You can't deny that they bring a lot of games, despite this whole Digimon fiasco. Idea Factory is a close second, but most of their stuff is Japanese only - and Koei Tecmo, Compile Heart are probably third and fourth.

In the West; Aksys and NIS America seem to be top dogs going forward. I don't know which is bringing more, but they've both been (and seem to continue to be) churning out titles on a regular basis. Idea Factory International also deserves a mention for third, and maybe PQube in fourth.

I agree with this statement. While I am a bit sour on the Digimon news (okay, I'm still quite annoyed honestly), they did bring over a lot of stuff this year (with Digimon Early 2016 and the God Eater games & SAO this fall being really big Vita releases).

Curve is pretty good as well. Although wasn't Hue supposed to release in September in vita?

I thought it was too (even sent a review copy request to Curve Digital & the Developers) but it never released. My bet is that it will be a 'surprise' release either this week or the following week.

Vita ports need time to make, so I don't mind waiting if it's still coming :).

Hue is a game I'd love LRG to do. It felt like Thomas was alone meets Braid to me.

Depends where.

In Japan? Bamco easily, though Idea Factory give them a run for their money in terms of sheer output.

In Na? Aksys too, I agree. Legit shocked they got Tokyo Xanadu, and four otome for 2017 is insane, plus stuff like Exist Archive and Shiren for this year.

In Eu? PQube or NISA. Both pick up games for physical release from other publishers and both pick up their own games too.

Overall, I'd say Bamco. But if we're talking MVP in the west, Aksys or PQube. Both continuing insane support while not doing anything to irk me too much (I.e. Bamco with Digimon or NISA with majority of internally developed stuff.

Whenever NISA announces a new game I get annoyed because it's not Coven. Need my drpg fix.

They'll probably announce Danganronpa 3 next.

Shouldn't NISA be announcing Demon Gaze 2 first?

DG2 just came out. Coven has been out for months.
I want Coven more :(.

Couple of pieces of news that have been missed.

Wheels of Aureila trophies are up for Vita (for anyone who missed the news, MixedBag games are porting but currently game has low framerate so Vita release isn't certain):

And here's a new trailer for Cyberthreat. It's basically indie Persona, I think. I believe the game is heading to Kickstarter some time:

edit: Oh, and here's some good news. What the dev of Claire: Extended Edition had to say about their next game coming to the Vita:

Vita, as a platform - and as a community, has been pretty good to us. No reason for us to change that in the future.
