So I just got back from my road trip to Orlando. My friend and I hopped into his car on Wednesday and drove to florida for the hell of it. We left Staten Island, NY at 6pm, and got to Orlando, on Thursday at 230pm. We were bored, and thats why we took the road trip. Anyway, a friend of ours was also coming down, but he didnt get in until Thursday night. So we decided to hit up Universal. We still had a ticket that was good from 4 years ago, because they never expire. So we both wanted to try that new Mummy ride, and man, that has to be one of the coolest rides I ever been on. For anyone who doesnt know what it is, or hasnt ridden it yet, its basically a cross between Indiana Jones (DisneyLand) and Spiderman (Islands of Adventures) with some insane secrets that I dont want to give up. So has anyone else gotten a chance to ride this awesome ride? What was even better was that it was a Thursday night, and the park was empty, so we waited 25mins to get on. I highly suggest that if anyone is going to be near Universal or lives near it now, to go and get on this ride. It will blow you away. Also, if anyone has already ridden it, what did u think? I would like to know.

I haven't been on any of these rides. Are they rollercoasters?

Ummm, Yes and No. Indiana Jones is a ride where u sit in a jeep and go through scenes from the movies, and there are some cool effects. Spiderman is a 3-D motion ride, with real sets and CGI scenes blended together to make u feel like u are in Spidey's NYC (ie, when Spidey jumps down from a fire escape onto your car, the whole car shakes, or when Green Goblin throws a flaming thing at you, hot air hits u in the face. So like Mummy is the best of both of those rides with some other awesome elements thrown in.

Also, to anyone who lives in CA, and can get to USH, the Mummy Ride there is totally different from the Florida version.

Well it's not totally different. The idea and execution are the same, but some of the scenes are set up differently.

I'm sure the Florida version is better. They had a lot more space to build there.

I see a making of thing all the time since I go to Regal Cinemas typically and they have a clip about it in "The Twenty" before hand.

Yeah but for some reason they show the making of the Hollywood version. And they don't even MENTION there is one in Florida. How retarded.

Edit: Also Screamscape is a fucking great site.

Screamscape does rock.

It also sucks that they are real strict about taking pics on or during the ride.

This ride really cant be explained.

The only negative about it is that most of the story that sets up the ride is shown on TV's while u wait in the queue. So when there is no line, and u get to the inner chamber of the mummy tomb, there is no more tv's or story, so I didnt quite understand the story, but who the hell cares. The ride was insane.

Also, on a side note, I also went on Shrek 4-D, and man that had to be one of the funniest things I ever saw.

I recommend that as well.
