Valve has a lot of IP that would be very valuable to a company with some actual motivation to do something. DOTA, Counterstrike, Team Fortress, Half Life, Portal, Left for Dead could all stand with some modernization/sequels IMO. Steam ruined valve as a development studio, but it made them rich so I guess I can understand why they don't make games anymore.

Valve aren't in a position where they need to be bought. They'd probably make way more on steam than Microsoft would like to offer.
Which is good, because given how shitty the windows 10 store is, i would fear Microsoft would fuck up steam.
But of course, would be nice if they killed Windows store to replace it with steam. But then again there's more trash on the win store than on steam.

Back when most HMD's used hdmi ports this may have been a realistic.
Now most they use Display port. You can build some sort of breakout box (like psvr) if you want to support existing pc headsets.
I don't see Xbox creating that box (they have had terrible luck with "attachable accessories") or creating their own headset (see windows 10 mixed reality devices).
The ps5 camera is also not compatible with PSVR1 ...not saying that means Sony has abandoned VR....but a hardware refresh/update would be something they would aim for.
