Duality trailer (10MB)

Man. I forgot about 'Raven Blade' for GC. I remember it was going to be a launch title.

The screens always looks good on that. Shame.

Am I mistaken, or was there originally a 128 Marios game rumoured in addition to the announced Mario 128?

RUMOR ALERT!Holy FRICKIN Cow! That's about all I can muster after reading what could be the rumor of the century over at Magic Box. RUMOR has it that Nintendo & Sega are teaming up to make a RPG which will appear on both the Dreamcast & Gamecube and feature several mascot characters from both companies. The DC version will be called "Sega and Nintendo: the Cosmo Cube" & on GC will be "Nintendo and Sega: the Dream Come True". These titles kinda give a nod to each others' systems, don't they?

I'd love to see Master of Magic II...

Though in my heart of hearts what I really want is Fallout 3 single-player un-raped by Bethesda and its Morrowind engine. Will they realize that the rabid Fallout fanbase wants a turn-based isometric RPG detailing the rise and fall of machinery and the Enclave in post apocalyptic earth? Or will we get another generic hack/slash database-chat RPG aka Morrowind?

Time will tell... if they molest the Fallout franchise, will the fans rise up in anger..? Or will they chalk it up to another victim of the online/MMO crowd?

Tornado and for GameCube. And what was the name of the GameCube demo that was showed at SpaceWorld back in 2000? Rebirth?

I remember that rumor from before, didn't Stolar actually confirm they (Nintendo and Sega) were working together on a project? This was during the late DC era, so it was probably just Sega prepping their GCN projects in quiet, though.

Akira Psychoball! I cried when I found out it was cancelled!

Dragon Quest IV (remake using Dragon Quest VII engine) It was released in Japan, but they say it will never see light in the US because the the 3rd party company that coded it went out of business.

Madden 96 on PSOne created by Visual Concepts

I've heard a hilarious story about that one :)

I heard that a bunch of French guys/ex-Apple IIGS coders worked on it too, but the final game played more like soccer than football?

128 Marios (the demo from Spaceworld) was folded in to Pikmin. Mario 128 is the sequel to Mario 64 (for the gamers who refuse to acknowledge Sunshine). People tend to get these two games mixed up.

Hmmm.... so what's this game about?

Dee Dee Planet was a real-time Worms-ish network battle game, developed by Sega. I never played it, but I remember following it at the time because I liked the visual style. It featured four player online action, a handful of weapons (lobbing missiles, bouncing guns, mines), robot upgrades (legs, tank treads, jets), randomly generated levels... that's all I really remember.

I think it did see an eventual Japanese release, but maybe through Sega Direct only.

This was the official Web site .

Seeing Gaia Blade and knowing its from From Software, but I can't help but see the similarity to Otogi...Is it possible that Gaia simply became Otogi?

That's bullshit. It's not true at all. It will never see the light of day in the US because a) the PS era is long over, b) DQ7 didnt do too hot in the US, c) the studio that coded the game was BUSY and/or no longer interested in working on DQ4.

What ever happened to Vultrues for the XBox. It was supposed to be using this new gen engine with graphics similar to Doom3 and Riddick, the story sounded reallyl sweet too:

Then what in God's name ever happen to Strident and Duality by Phantagram for the XBox. I was shocked as hell that Kingodm Under Fire: The Crusaders FINALLY was released. Strident and Duality looked like a lot of fun. Any word on any of this stuff I've mention?

At least we finally got Spikeout! ;)

It was BUSY being shut down and reformed as a Nintendo funded subsidiary after Enix ended their DQ contract. :P

I haven't read this entire thread, so this game has probably already been mentioned....

I just turned 31 and I think the game Duke Nukem Forever has been in development since the day I started growing pubic hair many, many, years ago.

I'm sure somewhere on the interweb, someone "official" is still claiming that its under development.

Conquest 2: The Vyriam Conflict. Warthog was bought out by Gizmondo and all traces of the game have since vanished, so allow me to say...

FUCK YOU GIZMONDO YOU GOD DAMN SACK OF SHIT!!

I'm still waiting for The Red Star...

:(

The Red Star is out there, somewhere. I happen to have been given a copy...

Alas, it's never going to be officially released, but in some ways that justifies 'acquiring' it magically off of the internet. The developers made the game to be played and enjoyed, they're never going to make any cash of it anyway, so I say, in this instance, don't worry about copyright issues. The copyright owners are bankrupt anyway.

It's a shame that this happened though, cos The Red Star is an excellent game that I would certainly have purchased. It's not dissimilair to Spikeout, but with a few twists of 2d shmup thrown in there as well. If you can imagine a flashier, gutsier version of Millenium Soldier on the DC, you'd be along the right lines.

The big annoyance IMO is the fact you can't use an arcade stick on a game that feels so arcadey. Still, it never quite vaporised, so go track it down :)

And on another note WTF happened to BC? Lionhead said it wasn't getting an Xbox release becasue of escalating cost/diminishing ambition, then a few days later, they got given a considerable financial rescue package and made noises about Xbox 2 developments. Has anyone heard if BC is back on the books for next gen? I can only assume it must have been a key title in the eyes of their new investors...

I hope it is anyway, cos a BC preview was one of the major reasons for me buying a boX in the first place : (
