Here's the problem with VG Cats ... it's not structured properly. If you're going to make a comic that long, each panel should lead into the next somehow. Ten stupid little jokes all packed into one long strip doesn't mean it'll be ten times funnier than one good joke done properly.

VGcats blows. I like the artwork style, but that's about it. I'm not a big PA defender, but PA is usually waaay better than VGcats. One day I read through about comic 80 or 90 on their site, and I only liked one or two of them. Both the ones just posted are just terrible (although I did like the drawing on the panel where Lucas is sitting at his desk). Two words.

Fucking furries.
 
Only at GAF can people not only whine about videogames but about COMICS about videogames...Seriously, I'd love to know what kind of humour some of you actually like...

It's all about Internet meme-crap, or so it seems. See comments like --> "fucking furries". For GAF, VG Cats sucks especially bad because it's a "furry" comic strip, despite not being made by a furry fandom member. With the various meme-wagons GAFers seem to be on, it's just another check-box to tick off and hate on something with.

VG Cats could suck just as bad, except if Scott happened not to draw a pair of cats in it, I'll betcha a lot of people wouldn't diss it using logic like "it's got cats, OMG, it must be made by furries, and furries suck and so does everything they do, so that's why it sucks!"

1- Your post is invalidated since those "Paul" comics a few posts up suck worse than any VG Cats I've ever read. And there are no furries included.
2- People wouldn't diss it by using furry jokes if the comic didn't include furries? Ya think?
 
Doesn't VG Cats still get posted here from time to time? It's criminally unfunny. I've never even chuckled at a single strip.
 
VGcats is like The Family Guy. There's some gags that might get a chuckle out of me, but it's largely incapable of just getting in, telling the joke, and ending. Ramble on and on and on and on.

I still stand by my theory that there's a good god damned reason most of these shitty comic strips are on-line and not in your local funny page.

Because they fucking suck.

This thread has increased my appreciation for PA. I started out reading the awards, thinking VGC must be pretty good. If these are the highlights, I ain't missing much.

I must admit, when I first started reading it, I thought to myself "holy shit, a VGCats that's actually funny!" but once again, its longer than it should be, which is a shame, since it's only a tiny bit too long and there was serious potential.

You know, I love it how people who are into furries cannot understand why they are so vehemently disliked.

When a morbidly obese person at a convention dressed up as a borg points to a furry and says "at least I'm not that guy" then you know something is up.
 
I hate VGCats because it sucks and takes 15 panels to deliver a 3-panel joke, not because it has furries.

However, I do hate furries independently of VGCats. Fucking furries.
