That's a given. It's either a distinct component or some heavy CPU tweaking, which would explain Aegies' comments about the latter being quite different to what's inside Orbis.

They are not going for high end crazy overspending specs anymore, so it's not impossible that they'd be selling them with minimal profit.
I think the biggest drawback to this is that 3rd party wouldn't like continuously moving target spec, especially if only one company does it.
Theoretically, everything would work on the first model, it would just work better on newer models (high res, better framerate etc). Realistically you'd probably feel about as left behind as you would today if you were using Iphone 4.

PS3 "magic" was Cell, now, PS4 magic is "it is easier to programming than before"...
Obviously Xbox 720 don't have any "magic", but now it looks like "all the good things are in PS4 and all the bad things are in Xbox 720", lol.
Durango will have their strengths and weaknesses, just as Orbis.
You do understand that both of these consoles are insanely close in architecture, right? Differences, sure, but I feel like I need to remind you... again... that even with the architectural divide of the PS360 - we still see games look/play almost exactly the same... with insanely different architecture.
Now we have consoles with rumored architecture so close in design - you pretty much can call it before they leave the gate.
Sure, anything can happen, but the chances are slim to none. I wouldn't keep hoping that something magical can happen - you are setting yourself up for disappointment.
From everything we know - your scenario isn't going to happen and again - people are here discussing what we know and not chasing some magical, beyond hypothetical unicorn which has no evidence to support its existence.

Unless those Data Move Engines provide something really interesting, it seems they will have almost exactly the same weaknesses and strengths in the grand scheme of things, but Orbis will have better GPU performance.
We're not getting an Xbox every two years. These specs were the target to provide a solid next gen visual jump while still being cheap enough to bundle with Kinect 2 and not be ridiculously expensive. Durango is not underpowered, it's just less powerful than Orbis. The Xbox crowd isn't used to having lower specs but, from my understanding, we won't see anything like some of the atrocious ports the 360 has recieved this gen.

Your probably right. However, 32MB is a limitation. The eSRAM can only do as much as the memory allows and will serve for specific functions like the eDRAM did on the 360.

Outside those DMEs, the picture is rather clear at this point. Both console use Jaguar and GCN architectures, so comparing them is fairly straightforward.
Alright. Both consoles are straightforward.
PS4 will have 60fps games. Durango will have 30fps games.

Yeah but that was the bandwidth of the PS2 small EDRAM. Not a fair comparison at all. In this regard, 360 EDRAM is considerably faster than the one found on the PS2. Which is of course normal.
Rest of the memory was 3.2GB/s.
Still this EDRAM on S2 was surely impressive, and probably the cause of many issue with BC on the PS3.
We have leaked specs and that's what we're talking about. What is so impossibly hard to grasp about such a simple concept of "let's compare tech specs we know about"? Especially hardware that is so architecturally alike?
I can make easy comparisons between a stock 302 and one punched out .30, heads, cam, intake, headers, etc. - it's the same architecture but one motor produces more torque/horse than the other.
This isn't rocket science - there is no need to pretend it is.
A casuals' oriented set top box with a GPU of 1,2 TFlops+ seems a bit excessive...but who knows!

It could be because you have made up a set of arbitrary rules where the specs but not the gap in them are free to be discussed. Its not rocket science that a thread about future tech and leaked specs would spread to those specs not leaked.
And if the leak is even accurate. I am only going on the history of the Internet here. So I could be wrong.

Comparing A vs B, while we understand that A or B are not the 100%, is ok. But some people are arguing that yes or yes, at the end, Durango is almost a Wii U and PS4 is a top notch PC, even when some insiders have commented that both are very similar.
Angry Birds Kinect requires dem flops.

Well if it's designed to play games, it's not that excessive. low power, laptop parts, lower memory bandwidth. Add to it that we already heard numerous times that there are going to be two xbox sku's.
This would make sense.

I didn't comment on the 360 version. Just the Apple one, which is better. It's also much faster, which is all I actually care about. Simple and fast. Paired to my iPad makes it even better.
