Perhaps he just means there are two alternate methods of getting the original Metroid at no extra cost if you have the right software.

1) By linking up MP and MP Fusion on GC.

2) By completing Zero mission you get it unlocked to play.

Maybe he's referring to Metroid Zero Mission...you can get Metroid classic for free as an unlockable

No idea about the DVDS. Anyway...

Here's a preliminary title list for the 50% off Circuit City list. The original poster says these are UP TO 50% off.

source: neocisco(cag)

neocisco said:
After much anticipation I present...the CC 50% off sale! Let me preface the list with a few comments. This is 50% off the regular price--49.99 will be 24.99, 29.99 will be 14.99 and so on. The price that shows when the game is scanned will be the 50% off price. Essentially, the included games should range in price from $4.99-$24.99. Each individual title's price was not on the list and I'm not about to scan every game to find out. :)
Second, I was not able to confirm this directly since the price changes will be downloaded over Saturday night; however, this list is printed directly from CC internal website. I have no reason to believe any of these titles are wrong. This does not prevent CC corporate from changing these prices or titles at any point during the week. OK, I'm sure everyone is sick of me covering my back so let's have some fun...

EDIT: This sale is actually UP TO 50% off. The 50% is not guaranteed. Some will be 50%, some won't. I'll list prices for games as they come in. I apologize for getting anyone too excited.

That better be because you already own Shadow Hearts 2.

And that whole BG thing, I know at TRU for a while we were getting some GHs in with different UPCs and SKNs. It was weird.

The "official" lists are posted, dunno if I should link them. Scott showed me on IRC.

Yoshi's Island GBA
Drakengard
Viewtiful Joe 2

Somebody also mentioned there's a chance that whatever doesn't sell out this week will be on a massive clearance next week. Given CircuitCity's pricing policies, though, I would think they'd refund the difference if any games drop drastically in price... but you never know.

So are they UP to 50% off on these selected games (the five pages) or are those the games that will be 50% off? Me = sorta confused here.

Scott

It's Up to 50%, yeah. It was mentioned on CAG that games will either be 30% or 50% off, but then someone later mentioned they may have seen a 35$ tag on FFXI, which is more than half off...

...So, I think it's safe to say nobody knows for sure what's priced what. :p

Well, thanks to CC now I have a reason to pick up Onimusha 3 and PSI Ops. I could hang with some Neo Contra and Silent Hill 3 too. I love being cheap and waiting.

May have to see if they've got Taiko and Mega Man Anniversary for half off. I notice they've got Steel Battalion listed too, but, there's pretty much no chance of finding that.

I picked up a Taiko myself today, it was $35 but still a good deal. Glad I picked up Konga instead of Taiko last year, Taiko seemed to drop much faster.

Didn't see Viewtiful Joe 2, Onimusha 3, or Siren though. :(

People are saying this sale is a fat bust, most of those games aren't even marked.

So, unless you're really bored or curious, I say don't bother.

I was also told that 1080 Avalanche was 8 at TRU, going to check that out as well.

All of the games that were on the list and that the store had were promptly labelled by employees while I was shopping around.

Might be a regional thing I guess.

Ahh that's right, I forgot to mention something to you Wario64.

I met a fellow CAG at Circuit City today (we both made a beeline for Taiko) and while we were hunting for our stuff I mentioned that you kindly provided the information and he knew right off the bat who you were. I guess you're some sort of forum star!

I rarely post at CAG, just browse the forums, so I wasn't aware of how popular you are over there, heh heh.

viewtiful joe 2 gc isn't on sale. neither is gungrave overdose. seems that list isn't entirely accurate. i couldn't find crisis zone, i didn't really want to spend $20 on drakengard, and while i was tempted to buy taiko for $35, i don't need another big useless peripheral sitting around.

That was a waste of time at least here in fresno. I was there this morning and not a single game was listed. They just put a bunch of 02-03 sports games and first gen games in a box. It was a rip. They'll cant sell that crap to me. And they expect people to buy it.

I heard the madera/merced dont know what town it is, but they had all of these games listed. Makes me want to go on a little road trip. But the superbowl is gonna be on, fuck!

Man sorry to hear that guys, if anyone is in the Miami area (or South Florida for that matter) all the local Circuit City's are pretty stocked with a lot of the games. At the store I went I'd probably estimate a good half to a 3/4 of the list was available. Others seem to have differen't products too but I'm too lazy to go driving around town for a $10 discount.

EDIT: Add the $35 Taiko along with Thief 3 as a great deal. If you guys can't get the PC version then atleast settle with the Xbox one. The Thief series is a pretty damn good franchise (with this latest one being the weakest).

I'll tell you what, I'll be passing by a Circuit City on my way up to Ft. Lauderdale tomorrow (probably a few actually), so I'll go ahead and check them out for you.

I can't promise you anything but I'll go ahead and PM you tomorrow in the afternoon to report on my success/failure.

Nothing was marked. No games at my Circuit City had any indication of being part of some "50-title" half-off sale. The bottom line is that Circuit City just fucking sucks at pricing and training associates. There's probably a list right there somewhere in their computer telling them what to mark down/sticker with red dots and their employees have no clue how to implement it.

It's absolutely the worst run company at the store level in the electronics business. I think they survive on name/branding/TV ads alone anymore because they certainly can't figure out how to stock correctly or price their product so people will know how much it costs and buy it.

This was a bust for me, I had them scan a bunch of stuff that was in the list, including Crisis Zone and Karaoke Revolution Xbox, none of it was on sale.

I did manage to get a PS2 HDD for $37.50, though :)
