It’s one of the most varied, creative fields of entertainment and human creativity in general. Sometimes I’ll watch a trailer/preview of a random game on online stores and marvel at the incredible stuff that people make just because they can. This doesn’t mean I’m down to playing anything, but there’s some mind-blowing ideas out there beyond the walls of the increasingly stagnant mainstream gaming landscape.
And yeah, the variety and the interactivity make for some amazing discussions. Even if two people played the same game and lived the same moment, how they got there and how they approached the game at large is always going to be different. I remember when my cousin and I bought Dark Souls 2 together and we later discovered that we took completely different routes through the adventure.

I'm thankful that although my wife isn't a gamer, she's very supportive of it as a stress reliever and hobby. I think she realized that after 36 years of playing games before bed to get sleepy, that part of me was never going to die lol.

Modded Elder Scrolls and Fallout games which will never get old even with thousands of hours over the years.
Stellar Blade, Rebirth, Space Marine 2 are amazing among the recent games.
And looking forward to Tides of Annihilation, Space Marine 3, Stellar Blade 2, FFVII Part 3, New Resident Evil games, GTA VI, and especially Elder Scrolls VI.
So yeah gaming as a whole is definitely still amazing and exciting.
