The fact is that a majority of Americans are fine with the way things are or actively cheer it on.
I know you are exaggerating here but this scares me even more than the action of the officers in this incident.

Your country needs tougher firearm restriction laws and your police need re-training, America.
I know you are exaggerating here but this scares me even more than the action of the officers in this incident.
Okay I agree the police need some serious reform here but how would you go about doing it?How do you train someone to not be systematically racist? The police need a reboot, not retraining.
You're going to think I'm being sarcastic but because he was black. So I read the story and am trying to figure out.. why did they command him to raise his hands in the first place? Couldn't find why he was treated like a suspect.
it sounded like he said something like "time for a taser, i think".
totally insane that he got shot though, what the fuck were those cops doing? absolutely disgusting.

I'm not being condescending, I'm genuinely curious what some viable solutions could be.
There should be a 3rd party government agency not affiliated with law enforcement at all that's only agency is to fire, blacklist, and/or prosecute law enforcement officers when necessary.
A sort of judiciary checks and balances for law enforcement if you will.
How do we make sure the people policing the police don't just side with them? That would be a terrific start.

See, black people in Oklahoma are known to spring traps on cops by appearing to be stranded motorists only for them to jump out of the back of the van and blow the entire police force away. It's only safe for the police to approach every black, stranded motorist as though they were wearing a bomb.

Americans are so fucking racist and stupid.

can you post an article or is this "word of mouth"?
can you post an article or is this "word of mouth"?
So stalled car on the highway while black gets put on the list
The whole thing just seems fucked from bottom to top.
Completely inexplicable.
can you post an article or is this "word of mouth"?
That argument went out the window with Charles Kinsey.Where are the users coming in saying he should have just "complied" and nothing would happen to him?
I know you are exaggerating here but this scares me even more than the action of the officers in this incident.
Why stun him if you're gonna shoot him anyway? Why even stun him in the first place if he's complying AND doesn't have a gun
That's a fucking execution.

He's not exaggerating.
Edit:
Racism and stupidity aren't limited to the US.
Yup they will not care unless its in their backyard. That is the main reason why protests HAVE to be disruptive as much as people say " its not the right way"Yep. As long as their areas are policed and kept clear of 'undesirables' most are happy to overlook stuff like this.
Idunno about you guys, but I think we need to give Kapernick a harder time for kneeling.Tasered, then shot while incapacitated by taser, all while apparently complying and posing no threat to the gang of police officers surrounding him.
I'm exhausted.
I hope they're successful because even just disputing a made up driving ticket with a police officer as a white male is an exercise in futility.Go to this site: http://www.joincampaignzero.org/
Wholly they are looking to make this the platform to use:
Below is a summary of what they are looking to accomplish. This is what needs to change.
The bold is clearly a lie, evident in the video showing Crutcher complying with his arms raised. Thus the rest of their statement can not be taken at face value and is worthless. Not that anyone here expected the police department not to fabricate their version of events. We expect them to be liars and they continue to justify that expectation. We expect them to attempt to cover up their own criminal behavior and they continue to brazenly do so even in the face of clear wrongdoing. The Oklahoma police officer who fatally shot an unarmed black man whose car broke down in the road on September 16 has been identified as Betty Shelby.
The 42-year-old officer fired the single shot that killed Terence Crutcher, 40, in Tulsa, the Associated Press reports. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
One fact I do know is that my brother was unarmed, Tiffany Crutcher, his twin sister, said. Im just devastated.
Tulsa Police said the shooting occurred near 36th Street and Lewis Avenue about 8 p.m., KOTV reports.
Crutchers SUV had stalled in the middle of the road, and police arrived to check on the situation, according to the news station.
As they approached the vehicle a black male started towards them, Tulsa Police spokesperson Jeanne Mackenzie told KOTV. They asked him to show his hands. He refused to follow commands given by the officers. They continued to talk to him. He continued not to listen, not follow any commands as they got closer to the vehicle he reached inside the vehicle and at that time there was a Taser deployment and then a short time later there was one shot fired.
2. Her Husband Is Also a Tulsa Cop & Was in the Helicopter at the Time of the Shooting
4. She Has Been Placed on Paid Administrative Leave While the Shooting Is Investigated
5. Crutcher Was a Father of 4 Children Who Was Studying at a Local Community College
Honestly, I think this is the most cut and dry case of murder so far. It could only have been an accident - there's no way they intended to pull the trigger
The fact that police unions are fighting against body cams so hard is really telling too because the stats are that body cams are overwhelmingly used to exonerate officers when accused of wrongdoing. So why fight against them? Makes you think....
I remember my junior year of College. I was driving from Houston to Austin, and there was a storm behind me. I was just ahead of the storm, it was one of those situations where you could literally see the rain behind my car. And so I'm passing La Grange and I see a cop broken down on the side of the road trying to change his tire. Now, about a week before that, my car had broken down, and a cop stopped and helped me change the tire. I decided to "pay it forward" and pulled over to help the cop change his tire before the storm came.
As I approached the cop, he stood up and pulled his gun on me and started shouting at me to "calm down." I explained to him that I wanted to help him change his tire and he waved me away, with his gun still in his hand, saying "I don't want any help, go."
That situation has always stuck with me.
Police unions will do everything they can to fight it - despite them being fair demands. They seem to want absolute power, and more importantly, be granted everyone's idolatry. Some really psycho individuals in police unions... and apparently on the force as well.I hope they're successful because even just disputing a made up driving ticket with a police officer as a white male is an exercise in futility.
The old Johannes Mehserle defense. Or Reserve Deputy Robert Bates, who used the same excuse. I bet you all forgot about this, also happened in Tulsa. He even got to go on TV with his family and DEFEND HIMSELF (Matt Lauer actually did a good job here). Some of that old white privilege there. Jury wasn't convinced though (the defenses argument was so lame and insulting)She will say she thought she was pulling her taser, I'm sure.

Why can't they just arrest both of the officers immediately for second degree murder? What's there to investigate?
