I'm pricing out a fairly powerful PC/file server for my dad, and all I have left to do is choose a videocard. He's still not sure whether he wants a lower-end card for now (like in the $100 range) or a moderate to higher end one (the $250-300 range). What would be a good PCI-Ex card in both those ranges for a P4-3Ghz system? I'm so out of the loop on videocards these days....I haven't been paying attention since when the R9800 was king, when I was building my current PC.
also, another question.....will a Socket 478 P4 fit in a Socket 775 mobo? I've been confused about that and can't figure it out. I almost went with this, which is a Socket 478, but switched to the Socket 775 Prescott just to be safe.
