hmmm, maybe i'll pick up vj2

how was it? i really liked the first, but never finished. i'm not hardcore enough i guess, is the second a bit easier? does it offer enough new stuff? if it plays the same as the first but new stages, i think i'll pass...

Pass.

:lol I bought VJ2, then wound up selling it for free after I mistakenly shipped it out without the disc and almost got tarred and feathered by Amazon. I issued a full refund AND sent out the disc anyway...

From what I've played of them, VJ1 is much better.

Yea, VJ1 does deliver a more rounded package.

VJ2 does have a lot going for it though, some real interesting puzzles within the levels, a few stellar bosses(and a couple crap ones), and some might appreciate the more liberal scattering of checkpoints. It lacks any worthwhile unlockables, and the plot is hardly appreciable as even the lowest realm of cheese. The girl sucks also.

Viewtiful Joe 2 is exactly like Viewtiful Joe 1 (same gameplay mechanics...the girl is useless btw, and not even that fun to play with in comparison with Joe).

So it's Viewtiful Joe 1 type gameplay (to the bone) with more stages and bosses.

There is some caustic humor in VJ2 (that's actually pretty funny) and some of the cutscenes are cool to watch, but it's more of the same.

Like Resident Evil 3/Code Veronica was to RE2/RE1.

Great game.

Such a shame it didn't sell very good.

EB was selling VJ2 new for $10 Canadian a couple months ago. I don't even care for the game, but I picked it up regardless.

Besides boss battles that were neither as interesting or challenging as the originals, and the useless inclusion of Silvia, Viewtiful Joe 2 is a great buy for $15 if you liked the original.

so, is it easier? i'm not a huge fan of challenging bosses these days...

It's much easier actually.

Also, the PS2 version of Viewtiful Joe has a "sweet" difficulty, which makes it even easier than kids. Not too mention after you unlock Dante (which can be done by playing sweet if need be) he totally overpowers everything making the game playable on harder modes.

Tis' how I beat VJ's harder modes :)

Nice. I've been waiting for V-Joe 2 to drop in price again for awhile. There's been some good pricedrops for Capcom games today.

i would rather leave the game (vj1) unbeated, then resort to playing any mode called "kids" :P
