Wait, what? For real?
Remove the limitations imposed by drag and air density and something can move really, really fast. To put it into perspective, the space shuttle used to orbit the entire planet in 90 minutes. Completely around the globe.
Wait, what? For real?
Well, sure, NOW, and in the near future. Just like atmospheric flight was at one time something only the rich or adventurous could do or would want to do.
But the hope is to improve the technology so that at some point in the future it will be a cheaper, easier thing to accomplish.
And you can't get there without first going through these stages of trial and error and limited availability, high cost, etc.
Bro, some of us actually are trying to adhere to the Qur'an and Sunnah. If you don't like that, that's okay, but please stop trying to introduce bid'ah into this deen.
What I defined is a Muslim. Everyone else is either transgressing the balance or falling short of it.
You are adhering to a perversion, You can go anywhere in the universe, point to where earth is and pray or you can do it like you are riding on the bus (unless you are one of those who asks the greyhound bus driver to stop the bus so you can pray in the middle of the highway) . What you think is adhering is you NOT adhering, this is your assumption. its it scientifically impossible NOT to find the direction you want and as someone said its probably even easier in space.
That is not what you defined as Muslim, lets expand on it, thats defining fundamentalist thinking as a Muslim but to each his own.
I think from your phrasing of 'dunya' that you are either from Pakistan or India and like you I am from Pakistan too where you rejected the only science nobel laurette the country has every and probably in the near future will ever produce with that thought process.
as long as branson is enthusiastic about the idea and rich as all fuck, virgin galactic will not be over.
It's a pretty depressing thing to say, but space travel needs to stop outright.
Hope for the best for the pilots, but I would be surprised if they made it.

So you think that Quran and Sunnah is a perversion? Astaghfirullah.

What are you saying here? That the affairs of dunya can be prioritized over salat? I really don't understand ahmadi logic :/

Keep and open mind and you will realise your religion doesnt come under threat because you incorrectly assume going to space means you cant pray . wth[/QUOTE]
I'm not from Pakistand or India....
So you're one of the people who glorifies Malala Yousafzai despite the kufr and shirk that she spouts...

Please take this shit to the Islam OT. No one in here but you two cares.
it's disgusting the way certain persons in this topic are using these people's deaths as a vehicle to promote their own agenda, especially when their agenda is directly contrary to what these guys were risking their lives for.
The people preaching the cost of human life don't give a shit about these people who died.
classy
How is it back-pedalling? I'm against it, as that post said.
It's a pretty depressing thing to say, but space travel needs to stop outright.
I'm fine with space exploration, and space travel when something is established to get to, of course
So you're one of the people who glorifies Malala Yousafzai despite the kufr and shirk that she spouts...

Because this
is slightly different from this
Good god, you're way more than a "loon". You're a disgusting zealot who would use religion to spread ignorance and bigotry.
for people unaware, Malala Yousafzai is the schoolgirl who was shot in the head by the Taliban, yet survived and encourages other women to get an education.

You're trying to make it seem as though I'm condoning what was done to her, I don't. I despise it.
This doesn't change the fact that Malala Yousafzai has been a vehicle for anti-Islamic sentiments. If she had been injured by a US drone, no one would care about her.
*Can a mod just delete the filth coming from Spongebob in this thread?*
I'm pretty sure the last person to die from a space related accident was in 2003. Considering we're almost into 2015, and we have only just lost 1 guy. I'd say we're doing well.
As for Virgin, they won't ever learn anything by getting everything right. This was a big mistake, but it's also a big learning experience for them.
I'd rather fly the guys that know exactly what can happen, what can go wrong and have tested their vehicle enough times to see everything.

I don't know what kufr or shirk or salat is, so I'm going to just imagine you're narrating a fantasy novel. It makes more sense than a religious debate in a thread about a crashed spaceship.
Have you ever used a handheld, cordless vacuum cleaner? air cushioned trainers such as Nike Air shoes? Ran a marathon and used one of those weird plastic blankets afterwards? Been on an airport runway? Swallowed a pill with a camera or sensor of some type that the doctor used to diagnose you? Used a personal storm warning system while out on a boat? Ridden an aircraft that has winglets? Fed a child baby food? Had baby food? Know anyone that has ever been on life support? Used an LED? Worn fog/steam resistant goggles, glasses, ski/diving gear? Used a home blood pressure kit? Know any elderly persons who use Lifeline or another personal alarm system like it? Used furniture like mattresses or pillows that have memory foam technology (anything by Tempur-pedic, for instance)? Viewed satellite television, GPS, used a modern smartphone to access the internet from anywhere? Known about a firefighter using a portable respiratory device to go into fires to rescue people or facilitate breathing without hindering their maneuverability?
You can thank NASA. Every one of these inventions, and many, many, many others, were either engineered by, or given their modern designs by NASA which needed to engineer solutions to space-related problems. (Like having mattresses which don't rely upon gravitationally-forced spring compressions)
Wiki has a page on NASA created or inspired inventions. What's the source on the LED - NASA connection? I seem to remember being taught about LEDs and their history in school and don't remember any mention of that.
It's a pretty depressing thing to say, but space travel needs to stop outright.
Hope for the best for the pilots, but I would be surprised if they made it.
Bear in mind, this is the 2nd Major Space related crash in 3 days.
Thanks for the link. That only talks about the plant growth / tumor treatment LEDs. I thought the poster earlier was talking about LEDs in general ("Used an LED").Wiki has a page on NASA created or inspired inventions.
