Vita "hacked," (PSP) homebrew on the way (not piracy)

Can anyone recommend me some psp games, never had one :P Currently getting birth by sleep and crisis core as those are not available on the store.

I like rpgs, action, adventure and platformers or any combination of the former

For your RPG/SRPG itch:

Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky
Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together
Jeanne D'Arc
Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
Persona 3 Portable
Final Fantasy IV Complete

Tactics Ogre
Corpse Party
Definately Dissidia Duodecim if you like FF. Do not bother with the original tho since Duodecim basically includes everything from it.

so one has a clue why is it that psp games bigger than 1 gb cant be installed? it says no space available when there's more than the required space, wtf?
I'm having this problem with Birth By Sleep saying it needs 1591MB and I only have 1518MB left even though I really have over 10GB free.

I was having the same problem with BBS, and eventually I just decided to use FTP to copy it over. I forget which FTP homebrew I'm using, but it works a treat for copying over things. The only downside is it seems to cap out at 1.4MB/s so some games take 20+ minutes to copy.

Is there a centralized cause to a backup opening to just a black screen? I've been looking for solutions to get my Motorstorm: Arctic Edge backup working for a couple hours now. Is it because I'm in the US and that game isn't compatible yet? I hoped ripping it would work, for some reason.

Assuming you ripped it yourself, that just means its incompatible. You can try using the other driver since that can help.

Since no one mentioned it, Ys Seven (action RPG). And Ys Oath in Felghana (action RPG w/ some platforming) too if you don't play PC games (since it's cheaper on PC due to the Steam sale).

My vita is on 2.01.
I think I managed to get UNO on one card, but it's almost full (I could move things around, but it's a bit of a pain in the ass).

Two quick questions: 1) should I upgrade to 2.02 if i want to use the exploit? Any reasons not to do so in case it works on both 01 and 02?
and
2) is UNO still available unpatched? I kinda want to put it on another card.

It's the same on 2.01 and 2.02, not sure of any differences to TN-C on any Vita FW version/exploit. So no reason not to update since 2.02 gives you PSN access, at least temporarily.

You should be able to put it on another memory card by transferring it to the PC then to the other card. Don't think you have to redownload it.

Awesome to know it works for the newest firmware! Downloaded Uno to be sure, but thought I was stuck since I wasn't on 2.00 anymore.

Hmm, looking on the Vita PS store, it shows up since I brought it, but the little Uno icon is now a "Missing Image". Doesn't look like it is, but give it a shot.

Edit: a quick look in the Minis section T-V doesn't bring Uno up, so it looks like it's down.

UNO isn't a minis title.

As of this post, UNO is still up in the NA store.

This looks incredible. But, as others have mentioned, the risk seems too great considering the pervasiveness of PSN. :(

Gahhhhhhhhhhh, what to do, what to do...

Risk of what?
Not a single person will ever be banned because of this.

...okay, I think I may do this. Just seems like something that could easily warrant a PSN ban. I have a lot of content that I don't want to lose. You have to realize that I was even too chicken to do anything of the sort to my PSP, even though that was apparently a cakewalk.

I acquire gpSP from the download section of Wololo's website. Zip the file, drag it into the Uno folder. Start up Uno, hit X and get into TN Menu. Extract the emulator and go to start it up. Error message and a kick back to the TN Menu.

What am I missing?

Tekken Dark Ressurection works, through ymenu at least.

This just made my night. Now to unlock Tekken Bowl again.

Shame they have the inferior Tekken 6 on PSN.

To install FTP for vita, do I just put the zipped ULES directory into the UNO savegame, or do I go through the process of putting the whole thing in the format the homebrew have to be?

(by this I mean that wololo's tutorial implies you would have to extract the eboot from instal.zip inside the ules directory, stick it in a proper PSP/GAME/somename directory, and zip the thing back up. The vita FTP zip itself does not follow the rules he mentions, for instance the directories inside have more than eight letters). (I realize i probably sound extremely confusing).

also.. how do I install open cma v5? The readme is unreadable... (i am using the latest CMA for now and it seems to work ok.)

For the FTP, extract the FTP/eboot from INSTALL.ZIP, ignore the rest.

ZIP with proper directory hierarchy. ex. (VITAFTP.ZIP<PSP/GAME/FTP/eboot)

Stick the newly created ZIP into the UNO save folder and transfer over. File sizes should be different when overwriting.

As for opencma, extract the contents into your cma folder and run "run.bat" as admin.

Does this mean we can play Mario on PSV?

:)

Thanks a lot. I am very curious about why the vita for ftp could have been packaged like that (i.e. not in the way which will actually work with its only purpose - vita cfw).

CMA seems buggy for me (v5 on latest sony cma), but I will do with the official for now..

Thanks again! :)

Just a small comment on this, the "missing image" has been showing up for me for everything i've bought on the Vita store for the last month or so.

Which Snes emulator are you guys using? Is it possible to get games that ran poorly on PSP running smoothly on Vita due to the increased horsepower? super metroid....

It's not using the Vita's increased horsepower, since the Vita itself hasn't been hacked.

The SNES emulator runs worse that it does on my PSP Go.

It shouldn't, though... I remember reading that the speed of the PSP environment on the Vita is actually far more powerful than the original PSP ever was, but you might just need to adjust the speed setting in the exploit itself. I had it fully cranked and didn't notice any speed issues, but I never played any emulators, just a handful of PSP games.
