Vita "hacked," (PSP) homebrew on the way (not piracy)

FUUUUCK. I can see it (I don't think I've made any posts there at all, so that's weird) but it's not in the AU/NZ PSN store. Fuck's sake. There's no way I can get it on there while keeping my Vita synced with my current (AU) PSN account, is there?

Edit: Oh, wait. I just remembered the regional memory card thing, luckily I still have an 8GB. Guess I can create a new US account on my Vita and use that card instead.

Hah, just went to ring up the new game on the webstore, and the 'You may also like' section recommends Uno.

It would seem Sony's computers are on this before the employees are.

probably has to do with the purchasing history of most of the new buyers.

They'll remove this with the quickness.

I still have no idea what this ''hack'' can do. Does it emulate the PSP games only? If so then I can finally dump my PSP collection on my PC. Does it emulate older/other devices? Like N64? Will it brick any part of Vita?

Does this site really think no one at Sony have an account there and can see the exploited game themselves? These (not so) secretive releases are stupid. Its the internet. You can't stop information from spreading.

True, but you can delay the spread of information so it makes it so that the game is not pulled too soon.

Doing it this way guarantees that many people can get a chance at getting the game before it's pulled.

Think of what you just said though. The whole point is to get the info into as many hands as possible is it not? Sony knows minute one what game it is. Why not try the opposite approach and shout it from the rooftops so you hit as many eyeballs as possible? This whole thing smells like attention whoring and power tripping by wololo.

They also presumably profit getting people to sign up for their forums due to them having ads all over the site.

Agreed... Wasn't Wololo that said the Vita would be a complete flop after it was released?

I've been a wololo member for a year or so and I still don't see it. I don't really care for it because the homebrew stuff is really weak and it usually ends up in piracy which I am against, but it just upsets me that I just don't see it. Oh well.

I am so backlogged on games on my Vita that I don't even need emulators or whatever to play on it. I really need to finish stuff :/

I don't get the homebrew shit either. I mean you can write your own code for the Vita all you want using PS Mobile and even monetize it all completely for free. So unless this allows 100% access to the hardware of the Vita then it's just another gateway to PSP Piracy.

It's been working so far.
Games usually go down less than a week after it's "public".

The game in question has floated around for a while and it's only today that people know "it's out there" meaning the last few batches of people are now getting access.

If I already got an old exploit (Monster Hunter) I don't need this correct?

Depends on what Firmware you are running and want to run. With each new release of the firmware there's a chance at older exploitable games getting patched out. Those that are publicly known as exploitable get patched out quickly.

So for some reason only us Aussies here so far can see it...

I am on 1.8 so that still works for me
