Has anyone given this a try yet?

Hmm, yesterday the Live from PS app, now this? Cool.

But I think that this app is available in Japan for some time now.

Quite funny, PS4 users want media player and they get games, Vita users want games and they get media player...

No wmv? Eh, will continue to use the Content Manager for streaming if that's the case. Smh Sony, no wmv at all on Vita really sucks

So strange that one of the video controls you have is video rotation.

Also dunno why I expected TVersity to be able to convert incompatible video on the fly.

Seems to work well for most mp4s I have though.

Edit: The way it reads your media servers even if folders contain incompatible file formats it'll still show the folder for selection.

And naturally if your mp4 isn't encoded in a specific manner it may play with errors such as lag, no sound, futz with the aspect ratio, or even just not play and show a corrupted icon instead. That said I threw an 8GB mp4 at it and it played fine.

Scrolling through multiple folders is very quick, especially when I compare it to the PS3 attempting to load up folders.

So simple, yes so powerful.

They shouldn't have done this at all. This is pretty great of them. Are you not happy?

Who the fuck stores media in WMV anyway.

That's funny I just bought three new releases on Vita this week!

Indeed it's a terrible codec.
On topic, what's the point of this?
I'm not sure it's uses, the Vita already plays media, is for browser content?

I only see a Live from Playstation App, that I assume is similar to the ustream/twich streaming app on PS4 (as it has the exact same icon).

EDIT: added it to my download list from the web store and then downloaded it to Vita, so it's there alright.

Hopefully when it's released someone can give me a guide to setting up a custom profile for AVS media converter.

I have a ton of video files I could load into my media server but want to make sure I won't get any format or codec errors.

does Nasne support playback outside of the home? I'd like to be able to install something in my wife's parents' house (in Japan) so she can watch recordings in the UK

I wouldn't know first hand as I don't own either Torne or Nasne (nor do I live in Japan), but I believe there's mobile and a few Vita apps. It would be silly to create those and not be able to stream content out of home, right?

please sony we need higher capacity cards, now and also lower the price

With the p.s T.V and now this , i dont want to be limited to anything less than at least 128gb minimum then work up from that

Ive been streaming media to my vita from my PS3 since the vita launched.

Now if I could plug my external from my ps3 in to the ps4, that would be news
