Vita Network Media Player now available on the EU store

just start that horrible piece of software, It shows the vita as a PS3

but it works really bad

but that's probably the fault of PMS since other media servers work really well, like rygel

Yeah, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. PS3 media server keeps not finding any renderers. What do I have to do from my Vita exactly? Keeping it open or searching via the network media player do nothing. I don't understand.

Indeed it's a terrible codec.
On topic, what's the point of this?
I'm not sure it's uses, the Vita already plays media, is for browser content?

You can use it to play music/videos from a media centre share. So instead of having to do all the conversions and download to the Vita (taking up precious memory space), you can stream it straight from a Network hard disk or similar.

Been using the app with our My Book Live drive and it works fine. Only issue I have is that some files have Japanese file names and can't read them in album format - though it works in folder format.

*Looks at the Xbox One media player format support and cries a little*

Hopefully Playstation media server (or the Universal media server fork) will add a dlna profile for the Vita and its supported media types.

Then again, I could just use my phone instead.. :P
