Gravity Rush is turning into quite the IP for Sony. Kat's in Hot Shots Golf, LittleBigPlanet, and PlayStation All-Stars.

Yet, Toro is in those and Disgaea 2/3, Phantasy Star Portable 2, Valkyria Chronicles 2 and more in Japan with none of those featuring him in the west outside of your three. WHY.jpg

The conclusion is that we Europeans can expect the firmware to go live well after midnight, no?

I was going to post the Grace Chen dealwithit.gif but I'm not sure if that's banned ... is it?

Can't wait for the new FW and games. I cleared up some space on my lowly 8gb card. Still trying to get the princesses to love my in NLKS :( It's so boring. Any tips other than letting the Vita sit/not go to sleep while having one recruited?

More impressions on both please.

I have been using Music Unlimited since august, and imo if you are into music it's a must have. You can download 4000 songs to 4 different devices so you don't need to rely on internet on your smartphone. On Vita it is mandatory to download in order to use it while in other apps.
The selection is really big (lots of cases identical to Spotify), quality is higher than spotify, there is a web app, etc...
Android app is fine. A nice touch is that the app adapts to every system. It's not the same interface on android, vita, ps3 and web.
They keep upgrading the app regularly too, with real improvements.
I agree that spotify is better in terms of social.
If you use it regularly it's worth every penny.

Gravity Rush is definitely one of those games that could be improved so much in a sequel. Similar to Assassins Creed 1 to 2 and Uncharted 1 to 2. Speaking of Uncharted, a Vita sequel of Golden Abyss needs to happen. Bend did a good effort for their first Vita game, imagine what they can do with the 2nd, they can add multiplayer (co-op and versus) and of course improve the main campaign. Seeing Bends first PSP effort with Syphon Filter to Resistance Retribution shows how far they can go, from better graphics, gameplay and content.

This nailed it. Honestly unless your a huge zeppelin fan you will find just about everything. Really like the service. Think the ios app has a few more features. Also to make any account changes you will have to log into a computer. Only real complaint is no equalizer function. MU helped me get over the anger when my external drive died with years worth of music on it.

Yeah, options around that would be cool.

I think the update icon appears after the livearea has phoned home, if an update is available, and it gets cached after that. I'm not sure if they phone home immediately upon display - they might only do so at certain intervals. Hence the refresh button. I guess it's a side effect of a system that isn't necessarily always-connected. Like with other parts of design, I would guess the OS/liveareas ration network access with an eye on the battery.

Doesn't 2.0 and PS+ bring auto updates for games? Thought I saw that in a press release along with cloud save backups overnight

PS3 does, if Vita has the same thats sweet. Hopefully it will still let me know which games have been updated.

Sent out a bunch of friend requests to my fellow vitabros. Gah, I hate that it doesn't let you send out a message along with the request on the Vita, I wonder if that will be the same in 2.0

P4G only a day away though, the package has left Amazon.

Also, for tomorrow, is Sine Mora worth it? I do like Shmups but more of the old school variety, never a huge fan of bullet-hell games. How does SM stack up?

Wait for the demo and see if you like it, pretty sure it's supposed to have one.
Sine Mora is a love or hate game, it seems.
People who tend to want the non-random powerup drops for bullet hell reflex runs hate it.
Other people (like me) find it fresh and enjoyable.

While it's partially bullet hell, I don't think that's the primary focus.
Again, wait, see if there's a demo.
Or go watch some gameplay videos on YouTube; or check the video review from IGN I posted in this thread sometime last week.

I think it's easily worth $10 to have it on my Vita.
However, I won't be spending extra to cop the PS3 version as well (already own it on XBL and Steam) unless that "ultimate" content is mind blowing.

Please no.
I like Gravity Rush. I don't want the sequel to be a downgrade for me.
Gravity Rush is definitely getting the franchise treatment.

There WILL be a GR2. They wouldn't be pushing Kat and GR so much by including her in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, Everybody's/Hot Shots Golf, LBP costumes and Home if they didn't have long-term plans in mind.

Yep. Smart thing as well.

She's in everybody's golf? :/

because you don't have the japanese version?

we euro/na people are sooo behind in terms of patches and DLC regarding this game, it is horrible :(

Geez, didnt realize they have jp specific DLC content for some games. Was there ever a mention that we'll get that as well?

another +1 for music unlimited. i'm using the free trial atm and i'm really impressed, slick interface, generally great selection, dunno how i'm gonna live without it when my sub runs out. will probably drop the cash

What should I play first?

GR or Uncharted?

Based on my demo experience I was more impressed with Uncharted.

Well, if you liked UC more atm, play that :)

up till recently, i'd've probably agreed with you... but then i played virtue's last reward :) . not quite the equal of 999, but far from disappointing. & i'd say the same goes for dark souls, as well - as long as you've got some continuity going with the original creative staff, sequels don't necessarily have to be 'downgrades'...

I wonder if Ubi will ever bring those wii u exclusives to 'other' consoles?

Something like zombiu or rayman legends would work well using a ps3 and vita, or just a vita.

Top of page : make sure you have loads of cash for the vitapocalypse tomorrow!

There was talk at some point about Sony doing something about games you bought on UMD for the PSP and transferring them on the Vita...did that ever come through or it's been canned or still in the works?...would love to play my UMD Gungnir on the Vita for example...
