Yeah, I get that impression a lot. Also Vita gamers buy more games than 3DS gamers do, which narrows down the profit gap a bit as well.

... no way we'll see 300k numbers/month within the next 6-12 months. Though Christmas should give a slight boost. I'd already celebrate 100k in dec to be honest.

Its not about criticism. We all know fairly well which issues surround this console.
However, would you classify comments that state "Well, Vita just got shit games, Sony trapped people into buying one with this deal. Sucks for them!" as valid criticism?

But then again I was called a Nintendo fanboy on this very thread because I said I was worried of the console's future lineup, so excuse me if I take your words with a grain of salt :p

I think he means the criticism of people saying Vita has no games now, when it's not true. I mean a valid criticism would be the price, or the future titles that are coming out, but right now the vita lineup for games is really strong considering its competition.

Or the PR. Or the late release date compared to the competition. But certainly not the games. With all this doom and gloom, its actually surprising the Vita got as many great games as it did.

To be fair. 3DS does indeed have about a twice as big lineup for "bigger" titles in 2013, but then again I am looking forward to lots of smaller titles on my Vita that arent any less important just because they arent properly announced yet or not considered "system sellers" (as Fight for Fortune).

Its true though that the Vita is missing games that makes the mass market go "I NEED IT", while the 3DS will get MonHun, Dragon Quest.. etc. That is more of a reception issue though, and not game quantity or quality (which is what should count).

I think it's very strong by itself. I already got a backlog and there are at least 5 games I want next year :/

I probably would've accepted it before it had been beaten to the ground and repeated in every thread consistently over 9 months, during which I've been bathed in so many quality experiences that I can barely keep my head above the water.

THQ needs your money isn't criticism.
Vita has no gaemz isn't criticism.
BOMBAing quality games isn't criticism.

GAF is a cesspit of self-defeating hardcore arguments against the very companies that supply them. Like carrion hoping everything will die off so they can get one last meal. There's nothing sustainable or constructive about a visibly large amount of the discussion that goes on in Gaming. I think I'm definitely doing myself a favour my staying away from it.

I feel ya. The gaming side of GAF is almost as bad as IGN. The number of threads I visit gets smaller by the day.
 
Even if Vita got a Monster Hunter the damage is done. If you want to play Monster Hunter you own a 3DS, and Capcom is too cheap/lazy to do anything more than an up-port of existing content.

Wait a second... who gives a shit what you (or anyone for that matter) thinks about the Vita. Who cares what anyone thinks about anything? Unless you had to sell your home, estrange yourself from your family, whore yourself out for cash, and live off of nothing but your own feces for six years while trying to make ______ a reality, I could care less why you feel that something is less than perfect.

Ya that's what I was saying. If you're comparing games right now, the Vita has a higher quality backlog available for it than the 3DS. However, if you're looking at future titles, that's more where the 3DS is looking bright, and the Vita is looking a little grim.
 
So I'm trying to download some old PSP games from the vita, but it says it's not able to download on vita, can I get them by downloading them on the PS3 and transfer it to the vita, or are they just not supported on the vita?
 
I need my MH fix on a hand-held and I don't feel like it on 3DS since I'm not very fond of the set-up (Frankenstick). I'm getting MH3 Ultimate on Wii U, though.

Capcom just needs to do a quick port of MHP3rd for Vita in English, at least.

Glad it's not just me. It has nothing to do with the Vita but in general. Most comments seem to follow some kind contrived logic and/or are very childish. Evil lore even had to make a sticky FFS.

Many games (MGS: PW notably) work via PS3 transfer. Some don't though.

I wouldnt necessarily say its looking grim. More like.. we are just riding blind into the sunset. :P Really, I have no doubts that we'll get some worthwhile games each month. We just dont know them yet since these titles dont tend to be announced too early.

What big titles does the 3ds have announced for NA next year aside from Monster hunter? I mean if you count what we know from japan it's line up isn't bad but for most people in NA the japanese line up is meaningless.

To be fair the only bigger game I can come up with for the vita that is confirmed for a 2013 NA release is soul sacrifice though neither title will really move systems in NA lol. (again not counting the japanese line up as we won't see most of them)

In general though I am expecting the vita to have a solid second half of titles as the games that started development shortly after it was announced should be wrapping up around then.

When one of the Vita doom threads cooled down a bit, I was putting together a list with some 3DS users and some Vita users for 2013 titles. I'll dig it up later and let you know.

thanks, I am quite interested as I own both the 3ds and vita, and right now I am looking at both going... well what in the world am I going to do with you guys next year lol. I have faith both will get solid games (hopefully the 3ds version of soul hackers is released in english as well as layton x phoenix wright) oh yeah EO is coming out next spring I forgot about that. but in general on paper the 3ds, vita and wiiu don't seem to have a great first half of 2013 coming ... the 360/ps3 on the other hand though @____@ thinking about it I suppose the vita has a better line up than I am giving it credit, but in general I don't count stuff like sly 4 as a vita game in my head.

I lurk. I suppose if I complained about everything like everyone else, I would be ranked higher than just a Junior member. Also, no nerve hit... I just find it mildly hilarious how people believe that they're all experts in the electronic media field. No rage, no anger. Just smiles, brow raises, and chuckles. That's the main reason I come to GAF... that and for the random links and information that the mainstream sites neglect to post.

As popular as Layton may be in the west, I wouldn't count too much on it (still bitter about AA2).

As for the Vita, just give me a new Peace Walker or Persona or FFType 0 (yeah I'm not picky at all)

Yeah, we were stretching the categories quite a bit. But in the end we included every game we could think of for a possible 2013 release and the 3DS list was about twice as long.

Then again, Vita is MUCH more likely to see great releases that havent been announced more than a month early. So even if the list trends in favor of 3DS, it means not much to me regarding the future of the Vita game lineup.

(I own both systems as well)

I don't think all of us think we know all about it but a few users are in the industry and others (takao,wario etc) have been a user of the industry for a long long time,

You pick up a few things about what would and wouldn't work :)

Obviously there are some who just think they know everything too
